Hey all.

There is a smaller business hiring really close to my house. I have never heard of it up untill i saw it yesterday..

They are hiring and will pay for training.

Is there really a big advantage for wearing a Big franchise name as oppose to a smaller Franchise name?

Well Franchises are usually pretty large. For instance The company I work for is Weichert there are only 2 or 3 offices in all of TN so I thought they were a smll mom and pop outfit but they are actually a Huge company with alot of good backing. Some will disagree but size isn't everything what really matters to me is how a broker is going to fruther my career without feeing me to death. Most independants and smaller offices can be just as good of better than the huge remax or C21 offices. It all depends on how well the office is run and managed.

My company is locally owned and operated, we are #2 in market share in our area. I'm with Chipperi, the big boys aren't always the best.

Neal,
Talk to the local board and get the stats for the last year as to who the top 5 brokerages are for listing and sales. You can also ask the number of agents with each office. This will tell you where the National Franchises stand against the smaller franchise companies.

Large franchises can sometimes offer more leads because they tend to have a more recognizable name. Training like the ones offered by Keller Williams and Century 21 are often very organized. There are some franchises who are still very unorganized and lack in training.

Some of the smaller places in town are doing very well. They sometimes offer a closer-knit group of people who all help each other. The brokers give more 1-1 attention and you have a chance to be very successful by leveraging off your other teammates.

The main thing is to ask what type of support you will receive, whether the broker has written policy manuals, and what type of ongoing training they provide. Some also aren't members of their local chamber of commerce, so ask about this as well. Being a member of the chamber sometimes helps with getting relocation referrals.
