I recently developed a new interface which offers U.S. weekly mortgage rates as provided by Freddie Mac. The interface can be seen on the WiredPages Real Estate page-- a link in my signature below.

I am trying to research market value for something like this. The interface is a java servlet which runs on a server that supports Java.

Because most small enterprises do not have Java/JSP support with their web hosting, I offer to host things like this for a small fee which includes a custom interface for each web site. Small fee-- about $25.00 annually.

this sounds like a pitch-- but I am really interested in what it would take to sell something like this to online real estate professionals.

Is there a market for this? Would other incentives be necessary? A free listing in the Business Directory, a listing showing that I have done work for you, etc.?

With the downturn in the real estate market-- I am not sure what professionals will pay for these days. I intend on making this a blog post- so any help you can offer will be appreciated.

It is really hard to say what the value of this would be. I fully understand the concept and just not the value it would bring an agent to have that on their site. I personally don't use mortgage calculators or anything of that nature on my sites, I feel I was found online to provide 1 major thing and that is the ability to search homes in a specific area. I have tracked the usage of widgets and tools on my sites and trust me I have tried them all (or at least a lot of them)and the percentage of people that actually use them are so low you really could not get me to pay for something like this.

This is just my honest input, most agent don't really use or even understand how to track analytics like I do and see value in tools like yours so hopefully you will get more input. I truley wish you great luck in your venture and if I can do anything just let me know and I will do whatever I can to assist.

When I was purchasing my home-- I kept checking the rate against my closing date. Home buyers today are not concerned with the same?

Probably; but those rates may be far more accessible today than they were then . . . . DIRECTLY and for free.

Speaking exclusively for myself, I am VERY picky as to how I spend my budget. Unless something is clearly beneficial, has a proven track record and can easily gauge ROI, I'm probably not going to spend any money on it. I do wish you the best of luck.
