If you are a California-based realtor, I would like to invite you to add yourself to (DELETED) I started this site since many of my friends and former clients have commented to me over the years that it was difficult for them to understand who all of the realtors were in their neighborhood. They usually knew of a few realtors whose marketing efforts had made them well known, but there were quite a few people who were looking to find agents who had a smaller book of business and could spend more time working closely with them.

Now, the website's not perfect by any means, but I'll slowly be adding features over the next couple of months, so feel free to send in any ideas. I'm hoping to keep this free for both home buyers/shoppers as well as realtors....Hopefully this is useful for both sides. If you want to join the directory, go ahead and (DELETED)

I wouldn't spend too much time or money on developing a Site with that name because the term REALTORŪ is a Registered Tradename and you may expect to receive a request or Court Order to "Cease and Desist" from using it before you get very far off the ground. I suspect that you will certainly be prohibited from benefiting financially from trading on the "protected" name (like, for example, selling advertising on your Site).

If you are yourself a REALTORŪ, then you probably already know this.

If you are not a REALTORŪ yourself, then maybe you should first check with the California Association of REALTORSŪ to see how close to using this "protected" Tradename you can get without actually crossing that line. I think the CAR probably has a Directory of their Members which is accessible on-line already.

Regardless of the legality, how would you monitor those listed to assure people accessing your site that only REALTORSŪ are included in the Directory, and not just Real Estate Licensees . . . . or perhaps people who are neither ?

Ah, good piece of advice. It's been a while, and I'm glad I didn't put too much work into this yet. In regards to charging, that's correct... I never expect to sell advertising or ever charge for this site.

typically, direct linking between realtors does not work. search engines know that realtors are linking just for search engine optimization.
