What unorthodox methods are you using to locate apartment deals? Forget the internet and forget brokers. I find most people run out of ideas very quickly, once you eliminate both of these options.
Why would you want to
Forget the internet and forget brokers
? These are two major sources for finding what you're looking for.
Ok, let's forget them. The alternative, as already mentioned, is contacting the owners. Research the tax records in those areas for their contact information. You can write to them (or email) or call them. I would prefer the former. If you call them, chances are that they are not interested in selling and after they hang up, that's the end. If you write/email them, there is a slight chance that they may keep that letter/email and when they're ready to sell, they may pull that out and contact you.
I'm with steveni on this one; why would you want to eliminate two of the best resources to search for apartments? The internet offers you instantaneous access to endless listings. Maybe instead of eliminating the internet, you should consider getting more creative in the way you use the internet to find what you are looking for.
Mine, I'll put images of my properties in my Facebook account and Myspace account. In that way, my friends and their friends see the images and they starting asking me if how much those units that I posted.
This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
