Absurdly rookie question, I know, but my client found a home that he likes and it's currently FNMA owned but not listed by another broker. Just a vacant home that was foreclosed on a few months ago. Where do I begin to get ahold of somebody in order to submit an offer on the home?

Go to Fannie Mae's property website and see if it is listed there and it will show status.

Other than that call Fannie Mae and give address and parcel number.They should be able to tell you if it has sold,is not currently listed,or has been assigned,

They could also be working through title defects or foreclosure issues before they can sell or they may have it up for sale in an auction or as part of a bulk sale.

There could be any number of situations with the property.If it hasn't been listed yet they will most likely give it time on the market to see what kind of offers it will draw.
