Why not focus on something that relates to your own British Columbia history or geography ?

And of course, it should bear some relationship to "what" you're trying to sell or some innate or subliminal characteristic that people would want to be associated with. You should never have to explain what it means.

Find something that's easy to remember; rings a bell with you, and most importantly . . . . creates a desireable image or perception with your Buyers and Sellers.

Vermont, those would be good for putting on a business card or other form of marketing.

A lot of agents go the keyword route simply for search engine optimization. The idea is that if the keyword is also your domain name it will help it rank higher. Not sure how effective it really is...but it works for me.

If all the good domains are taken (which invariably, they are), I would consider adding a command modifier somewhere in there. For example, 'searchphoenixhomes' or 'buyphoenixproperties'. Just a thought.

A well search word is "realtor". Unfortunately it is trademarked however you can use it in two ways:

both are okay with NAR.

Using some keyword on your domain really works for me so I think it is still the best way. The only cons is most of the search keywords are already being used, so go with variation you can use a lot of tools you can even try the dictionary for some synonyms

Sometimes it helps to reach some of the niche markets by having additional domain names using different property types or specialties, such as:

citycondos.com
citytownhomes.com
cityforeclosures.com
cityshortsales.com

Having the city in your domain name is not as important as branding. Don't have the name of the city in your domain name just for the sake of SEO. It is best to have a short easy to spell domain name the people can remember and spell easily.

Registrar like Networksolutions.com and Register.com make good suggestions if the domain name you enter is not available. So play around with different keywords and the system will make good suggestion based on your keywords.
