So I started receiving orders from an old not so popular company again. I got an order last night 10pm that is due today at 3pm with a pay rate for a 48 hr turn around time! WHAT? And this is not the first one. So I accepted it, but sent an email that advised if they wanted this today it is a RUSH and they will need to pay accordingly, if not I'll have it for them tomorrow. Get a call this morning asking if I will have it done. I restated what I put in the email. She says I'll have to run it by management and call you back. She calls back and says "sorry we have way too many agents in your area to pay you that amount" I tell her fine, have a nice day. I sent the company an email to let them know how poor their business practices are and how they rate compared to others. I'll probably get booted out their little system, but I'm sick of this crap.

Thanks for reading

You won't get booted. They'll assign you some work again in a few days with the same fee, same turnaround time. They may have a lot of agents in your area but how many of them actually still work for them?

I'd make a point of NOT "accepting" anything until agreement is reached on the Terms, Conditions, Timing and Fee.

It's like a Seller on a P&S accepting the Offer and signing; but then later saying he wants to discuss the Price or Closing Date. Once it's a Contract, it's too late to bargain.

I'd rather just pass on all of these until they reflect Terms and Conditions that I feel comfortable with accepting, and then I never have to come asking after the fact begging, hat in hand, for them to make it better for me. Once I've accepted, it's too late to bargain.

Oh I'd never beg. That's why I told her ok, thanks bye. I put in the email to them that I have my fees in their little contract page, and asked what's the point of having that if they are not going to abide by it. Since I sent the email this morning I've gotten 3 with my terms. Maybe it's a fluke but we'll see.

I'm guessing Fi-serv. I've told them the same thing and they keep coming back! Rarely do they agree to my contracted price. Sometimes they'll up it to $40. I turn those down usually too unless I'm already going that direction.

I think it's the fear that there might be some sort of punitive repercussion coming from the Mill . . . . but who can argue with the truth ? We're already being punished for working with them.

seriously? Why are we afraid of the mills? I told OLD REPUBLIC that they can shove there PIA POS $45 interior orders where the sun doesn't shine. They sent me an order an hour later, no joke. I told Pro-Teck I wanted $25 to review an order for the second time due to the ridiculous nature of the request. They quickly cleared the order. I have no problem telling companies that they are a joke when they only want to pay $35-40 for a drive by. So if anyone from ORDMS, or Pro-teck is reading this- You suck.

I flat out told MDA that their fees suck about two months ago. I got tired of their low fee solicitations. Ever since doing that they have not sent me any more offers. I really don't care, but I don't think people should assume that you can tell these mills anything you want without possible consequences. With MDA it did matter and I suppose I have burned that bridge. So just be careful, that's all I am saying.

Danni, I had the same issue with ServicleLink and Powerlink. Wouldn't honor my contracted fees. They did a few times while on auto assign, but way too many out of area orders came in.

Now they won't budge on their price. They must be getting awfully good work for $45, but then why call me?

If you post your real name, then your cover is blown. That is why it pays to remain anonymous and use a screen name.

With many of the Mills, the Boiler Room Girls who call to place the Orders don't know what our minimum Fee is . . . . and that's by design. I think they are compensated as a function of how little they can get the Order done for, so they are encouraged to bargain; the lower our Fee, the higher their pay.

I think I ceased being an active Vendor for eML because I told them that I'm tired of this silly bargaining. They go on a fishing expedition to see how little they can get an Order placed for, and then have the guts enough to come back around for a second session of negotiations to see if you'll budge. I've never budged.

It's like "a couple of hours ago you agreed to do this here Order for us by Tuesday IF we'd pay you $XX. Could you do it by Wednesday if we paid you just $YY? We already have someone who is willing to do by Wednesday it for $ZZ." Couldn't you at least match that? NO! Go use your Friend who'll work for less !

I had to put a stop to the mindless re-evaluation of my schedule and travel itinerary to repeatedly see when I could fit it in . . . . but I NEVER compromise on my Fees . . . . they've been the same since the mid 90's and I see no reason to start altering them for any one Firm. You give them just $5.00 once and then the next time it'll be $10.00 or $15.00 . . . . and down that slippery slope you go.

I like the firms like FINITI, MGIC and SLS in that respect . . . . they don't even bother calling unless they're prepared to pay my Fee; so we don't have to waste time doing that negotiation dance over money.

I don't mind negotiating if the company is willing to. In fact, I like it.
Problem is,some companies fees are non negotiable.
