Yes, we could all talk about how to triple the number of visitors through SEO marketing or sending out more emails to prospects, but the best way to increase the number of conversions for your services or products is by providing tons of value. Many make the mistake of primarily focusing on driving boatloads of traffic and hoping a percentage take a particular action, whether it is a sale or an email opt-in. Sure, that will probably make you a quick buck, but you're probably going to have to repeatedly find new prospects.
So what is the best way to maximize your online conversions?
Easy. Create a relationship with them and nurture them. Don't consider your prospects as customers, but more as friends you want to help. If you think of it that way, you're more likely to say "Hey, here's a bunch of stuff you should check out for free, and if you like it, send me some more money to help me out and I'll make it worth your while" instead of shoving a bunch of stuff down their throats and hoping one will take the "bait".
It takes a lot more work to develop and grow these relationships, but in the long run, you'll be much more successful in your campaigns and your audience will put their trust in you. They won't feel you are trying to scam them or use them. With their trust, you can continue to provide them with value and they will know whatever you deliver to them, it will be badass.
So even if your prospects are online instead of in person or over the phone, make that effort because it'll be a breath of fresh air to find someone online who actually wants to help.

All very good points!
Using wordpress blogs is a way for you to rank on google, generate leads, collect the leads through a squeeze page located on the blog, and provide TONS of value to your leads. Of course you need an autoresponder emails system to help you stay in touch with your leads but if you provide value to your leads you will be able to take a leads and convert them into a loyal customer. A blog will allow you to provide current news on the market, tips for homebuying and selling, local news and information, tons of topics such as mortgages, moving tips, selling tips, etc. You can put you listings or great deals in your area and you can make the blog entertaining with videos and photos.
Solomon there are for sure deal breakers on sites. If the site is too complicated, over crowded, or annoying with graphics your visitors will never stay. If you blog does not provide value to the visitor or is difficult to navigate they will never stay on your site . . . and if you provide too much information (i.e. about a listing) they will not need to contact you for questions. Provide information, current news, market reports, and partial info on listings. Also give something away in order to collect a name and email such as a market report, tips to sell your house, or moving tips. Think of what you would want if you were trying to buy or sell a home.

The whole point of the article is remind you not to forget exactly who you are dealing with. There are real people on the other side of your website, looking for the right information.
Whether you are using the best splash pages or strong calls-to-action, you have to make sure you are touching your visitors as if they were real people that you confront offline.

I would have to say it’s a great idea to do what’s necessary to increase conversion from your online leads. I would still continue to increase traffic at the same time.

Thank, great comment. There is also a easy way to increase online conversion. Be sure that your content match the query. For example, if you use http://www.wordstream.com/adwords-keyword-tool Google Adwords Keyword tool to find keywords you want to target, let's say you're targeting " 5 bed room house in Denver", and none of these keywords appear in the landing page, you certainly lost most of your potential clients. Hope you will find this advice useful.

Conversion IS what we do at Virtual Results. We measure everything. But honestly, conversion is not rock science; just not enough people even bother to think about it. Our analytics say that 60-70% of visitors to agent/broker sites end up looking at listings. Make it drop dead simple to search, and then make sure there are always contact points on all those pages (I'm amazed I still find blogs without email and/or phone numbers on them).

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
