I've worked with a Mike Ferry coach for about 6 months now and its really changed my business for the better. I'm looking to strengthen my skills and I'm thinking about heading out for the Prospecting School, has anyone done it? If so, was it beneficial?

The best thing that Mike Ferry promotes is a solid work ethic. He's very good at keeping you on track.

To me this is utter silliness - to pay someone to tell you to how to prospect. Prospecting is not rocket science. Why on Earth would you pay someone for prospecting lessons?

Why on earth would you pay for Golf lessons or any other instruction from an expert in their field??? To improve my own skills on the phone...

To me this is utter silliness - to pay someone to tell you to how to prospect. Prospecting is not rocket science. Why on Earth would you pay someone for prospecting lessons? Rather than calling it rocket science, I've discovered through trial and error that it really is all about finesse, timing, and luck. If nothing else, Mike Ferry has a powerful way of keeping you motivated to pick up the phone and start calling people you don't know.

Agreed, I have used a coach for some time. Mike Ferry is the one teacher that understands the gimmiks will not work and hard ethic always wins.

Just back from the Mike Ferry Prospecting School and here are my impressions:
- It was great, the class is taught by Mike son Pat who take a fantastic approach to the task of calling. Pat's got a real laid back, have fun with it approach and it really changed my view of prospecting. - The class is split between classroom time and phone time (approx 4-5 hours per day). During this time you'll be calling your leads and both Pat and some other coaches will be walking around giving pointers. Several times Pat got on the phone with me while I was speaking with my leads and guilded me through the script/call...I thought it was awesome. It really helps you take a look at what you can improve on when on the phone with prospects. - The class was a mix of a few agents that had been several times, a few that were newbies to calling and some in the middle. - If you live on the west coast and could drive to the MF headquarters in vegas, I would do this school every couple of months just to brush up the skills on the phone. - Thats it, I figured that it might be helpful to those of you who are on the fence about going as the prospecting school is pretty new. - Pat did suggest the productivity school for me so I'll probably be doing that next has anyone participated in that?

Have been to a few of Mike Ferry's events and they are, if nothing else, very motivational. Group of great speakers. As far as the prospecting school - I have heard good things, and if you are shy over the phone then I heard it gets you over that at least lol

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
