While I do believe that most if us think an IDX link on our site is important, do you believe that there are huge differences with IDX providers? Our MLS allows a free IDX link for us to use, so could it still be beneficial to have a better (paid) independent IDX? All opinions appreciated (except those suggesting I'm not paying enough taxes).

I use Diversified Solutions for my wordpress site...I've seen a huge jump in contacts from my Point2Agent site..

It works great. www.AyersTeam.com

I have the WP Plug-in as well. All IDX providers are not alike.

A free link is just a basic solution, while an IDX provider will give you more options and a better integration with your website.
Check this two providers and you will see the difference: Diverse Solutions and 1 park place .

Ive used most of them and am now with Dynamic page solutions and love what they offer. Diverse really worked well for me in the past. I guess i never really thought about it this much I was more focused on getting better page ranking then my IDX conversion, I better get off here and go do that...

I really like the realtysoft idx. I have tried a couple and for the price($0) it works fine and is pretty user friendly. There are a couple of things I wish it had, but all in all I am happy with it.

Having the ability to have pages indexed is key in order to get more credibility from the SE (and it shows on the SERPs). Currently I use IDXBroker but love what REW has been doing and plan to do the switch later in the year. Diverse Solutions also has a rock solid reputation.

I've had IDX on my site for over a year and I don't see a lot of interest, maybe 3 people have created accounts. Have been thinking about cancelling the service and saving the $40/mo I'm paying. On the other hand, I tried to stay away from listingbook but notice that people really stick with it and like it, so I've been pondering the idea of getting a paid account with them which is still less than IDX. Listingbook feeds directly from the MLS so customers have access to all listings and they allow all agents a free account without personalization.

Is IDX working out for some of you?

PS: I'm with idxbroker and not associated, not an affiliate of listingbook, just sayn'

I had IDX on website since it was available guess it was 2003 now but you know I have a good memory...its just short. Anyhow I took it off as no tangible leads came from it. I am going to try something else.

I have people emailing or contacting me ALL THE TIME about listings that I know they are getting from my IDX. Maybe the problem is not the IDX but the website itself.

Without IDX on my site I would be dead in the water. I use my IDX links ALL OVER - my website, my blog, facebook...everywhere.

And I don't pay anywhere NEAR $40 a month for my IDX. I pay my MLS $120 a YEAR for IDX for my website!!!

I can create my own links and I also can give customers an account where they can save listings, do their own searches, etc. I have had a LOT of people sign up for an account.

I actually like IDXbroker as you can do a lot of customization on the SEO part. It takes time/effort to do it properly, but it's paying off.

IDX is great, and every agent and broker should have a search on their site in my opinion -- but if you don't have any traffic to your website & are not going to either buy traffic or go figure out how to earn it, it's not worth the money for IDX. You can't put up a website w/ IDX and just expect it to produce results. You need consumer traffic for that to happen.
