Hi guys,

I am looking to buy a condo in Florida since the prices seem pretty good about now. I have narrowed down my search to two regions which I think I want to focus on: Naples and Miami. I want to make a purchase on a condo (1 bedroom, but preferably 2) with a price target of about 70k (less would be nice though). Will any of these area's be rent-able? Or are there other more attractive areas in Florida that anyone knows about? Profit would be nice but since this is my first purchase of a rental property I am completely fine with breaking even so long as I learn the ropes in doing so.

I would also appreciate any additional tips that you guys can provide in terms of what to watch out for and more specifics on the areas from people who are familiar with Florida. Thanks in advance for the help!

I live in Melbourne,Florida. I've previously lived in Homestead, South of Miami, and Tampa. I find Melbourne to have a small community environment that we like. We usually have off-shore winds in the summer, and that makes the hot Florida summers more bearable. Just need to keep any eye on the Space Program funding, because it's a major economic force in Brevard County.
