with myfax, you can also email your attachments right in to myfax and it'll send'em as a fax... the email attachment is what you want to fax, and the email itself is your cover letter. pretty handy...just do it all straight from your email client.

Usually within 5 minutes... when someone sends a fax to me it goes to their server/software, gets converted to a PDF, and then gets emailed to me.... so... however long that takes?

I use Voicenation (dot)com

$4.95/month - faxes directly to your email inbox (could be more than one) or viewable online as well.

It's been a few months and I wanted to re-visit this e-fax subject again. What are you guys using? Why do you like it? How many faxes are you allowed on a monthly basis?

I am using eFax, since they acquired CallWave....
So far the cost is $12.95/month for 200 pages out and 200 incoming. At least this is what I believe about sending pages.

Their regular prices are much higher for new clients. If they will increase my monthly payment, I will switch to myFax.

eFax is buying out their competition (when they can..)

For faxes you send-- that require your signature-- are you a little concerned about pdf signatures?

Some countries-- including I believe US states as related to contract law-- recognize fax via landline signatures. I am not sure if they recognize-- scanned signatures-- for online faxing, yet.

Q...

Interesting point Qisoftware. I never knew there was a difference. Personally I don't think there is. Both methods of faxing require scanning, Digitizing, sending, receiving and printing. It is still an electronic file of some kind when sending from a fax machine on a landline to another fax machine. The exact same kind of scanner is used as well. In fact using myfax and other related services produce much more legible copies then traditional fax machine to fax machine. You don't have the decreased quality as you do when you fax something 4-5 times.

I'm not concerned about it at all though. If FHA accepts docusign signatures then this kind of faxing is now problem either.

I've used efax and found it to be a decent service.

At my office we get included in our fees a dedicated fax line. What I use to send is included in our MLS fees. We use Instanet Forms and they have an Email to fax service that is terrific and included. There is also a way to purchase a phone number that is dedicated instead of using the 888 number and the fax cover sheet with the bar code on it.

Not sure if that's available you you ... but that's a possibility.

I like phone dot com. If you use the virtual office package you get two numbers.. one for your direct phone..one for a dedicated fax number.. you can choose your number for your area code.. or have a current number you own ported over. I like the fact that i dont have an inbound or out bound page limit on faxes.. What if you have a hot REO property.. boom 20 offers at 35 pages each.. and you get extra charges from the other services.. Phone dot come just goes off minutes used.. all for 20 a month. You can login, write in the cover letter..like you would nomally as a hardcopy fax.. then attached the PDF or other supported file.. then submit.. gives you an email or text confimation..you choose. So, you have 2 numbers.. one phone one fax.. that are not owned by the broker.. never send your past clients "hey i changed my phone number cards again." Keep the same numeber where ever you go.

I think an efax is the best way to go. Its a fax number that gets sent to your email. Cant get better then that.
