hi, okay, I got a good deal with agent advantage because I was a former homes.com customer and they grandfathered me in as they say. So all i paid was 179 a month starting on the 3rd month. The first 2 months i pay 80.. That is for the SEO program they have. and premium goodies that i will have on mt site.. like click to call drip email etc
Problem! over the weekend, i typed in "hosted by AgentAdvantage" and all the sites were hideous! They were so template!! OMG! i went back to the site and I saw the templats offerered
I kept hearing the sales guy tell me customs web page. so i was hoping that custom was with my package. I just called and custom is not with my package. now i want to cancel.
I should have went with Agentimage, linku or even Cevado.
Agentadvantage custom runs from 500, 900 and 1200.
What should I do. any comments.

Jam,
Do you have a blog? IDX and contact me forms can both be inserted into a FREE, highly optimized blog that can be found by search engines far sooner than a site. You can also add extra pages to a blog site, link back to it from other social sites and more.
I guess my suggestion would be to build your own blogsite and abandon these lead generation companies. I was in a meeting last week with a guy who was with one of those well-known companies. He claimed that his net commission was one percent after all of the fees were paid. Insane! We're all closely watching our P&Ls right now and it seems a lot of your energy may be being invested into lead generation tactics that will require time for real ROI.
Finally, the online sites that I do use are paid with one of those money cards I picked up at a department store. I pay $3 per month, $3 to load money on them monthly and NO interest. Should one of them ever act up, I simply don't fund the card. It works better for me than just handing over my real credit card.

Can't go wrong with Busy Agent Pro. Unlimited fully customizable websites, free hosting, blogs (including wordpress), over 40 social network blogs, SEO advice, video blogs, IDX friendly, contact forms, free reports for follow up, auto responder, full contact manager.
Not to mention it's a heck of a lot cheaper than $179 a month. I have lead capture pages ranking high in google within 2 weeks of creating them.

Greene,
That is indeed a great advice. Would I be able to place a Blog into my existing Domain and thus cancel my official website for which I pay $25/month and it's not even highly customizable? I would have then a BLOG and an offer for IDX and be able to generate my own leads.
In order of priority what would you suggest? Having a "branding type website" first...and then create some "lead generation" one page websites for a particular niche of the market...or do the opposite and build these one page websites first while my main page has a pretty "vanilla" feel to it all and then as I get leads and business spent some serious $$$ on a fully redesigned and contemporary Website that brands me as an agent.
I am more of a direct touch realtor but eventually I would like to build the internet leads as well and advice from you and Perky who both seem to know what they are doing is very welcome. Just so you know...my current website is:
searchingforhome.com
Thanks.

Sorry, folks. A nearby fiber optic cable was damaged and the whole neighborhood was without internet or phone service all day.
In the interest of full disclosure, I do have another site for which I pay about $150 annually, but it is largely static and, therefore, ranks rather poorly (I'll gladly share the vendor with you via PM as I don't care to promote any product or service here). The blog, however, is updated frequently and does far better for certain keywords.
Danton, I'm not a pro by any means, so this is only my humble opinion. You should be able to contact the place where you bought the URL and have them forward the domain to your blog, but remember that the age of a site will also be a factor in search engine placement. If your other site has been around for sometime, you'll want to ensure that you're not losing rankings by pointing away from the original site to a blog. You might be better served by choosing another highly relevant URL and using it for your blog, get it ranked and then gradually move away from the other site if you so choose.
My online strategy has included two, all inclusive sites (one through my broker that I rarely touch), a blog primarily for buyers and a listing presentation site for sellers, all branded, but two of them have well-defined targets. This has been getting the phone to ring for me, but the WA market is probably quite different from Atlanta, so you'll have to test a few things on your own to find what works best for you.

Yeah, I hate cookie - cutter sites for a number of reasons.
As a matter of fact,I wrote an entire article on the dangers of cookie - cutter websites and why they don't work, as well as a video on the subject. Just Google "Expert Realtor Web" to find the site and the blog where the videos are posted. All of the stuff is 100% Free.
I have tons of free videos up on my blog that shows you how to do everything from getting a domain name to actually building a site or blog for real estate professionals. I also have a free 98 page e-book on how to use the site as well as build it yourself.

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
