About two weeks ago I get this interior order that just drug itself out for two weeks.......A pita listing agent, problem tenants, etc. I finally complete this puppy, yesterday. I submitted the order back to my client. My contact person thanked me for hangin' in there. I emailed him back and said "If you're really happy with my work and have an ear of somebody in your REO division, please pass my name on." I get this email back this afternoon. "Actually, I assign all listings in your state. No s**t, I thought. He goes on and says, "I'll watch for some new ones in your area and send you some." I'll keep the group informed if this turns into something.........ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS ASK.......(and, yes, I still believe in Santa).

I think what I've learned from this is to start paying more attention to their conversations and emails. I do with my buyers and sellers...why not the same for others?..You can't force feed them, but, if they open the door....follow up with a quick resume. I'm really curious how this one is going to play out.

Candyman, I'm pretty sure it will go all good for you, I got my first assignmnet just because I asked,I was doing a short sale back in '07, and the negotiator was happy with my work, a year later I had another short sale with the same lender, so I emailed him and he replied with a " I'm sorry I can't help you as I dont work any longer in the loss mitigation Dept, now I was moved up to the REO dpt..... said what!!!my eyes were popping up, and I told him that I had tried to get REO listings from his company, then he explained to me the process, and that the computer system will assign me listings ( how the heck was that possible if I had never worked for them for the system to recognize my work??? ) he said he can only re-assign if another Realtor is not performing well, guess what he opened the door for me next day listing was on my inbox. Just ask, it wouldn't hurt... and I got almost 14 re-assignments, I can say I had 3 times the door opened for me on REO's just because I asked. Just ask it doesn't hurt... And I believe in somebody superior GOD

I believe that's the whole key......."Don't be afraid to ask". It's all in the timing.....when the door opens, make your move.....It's too easy to come on too strong....just wait for the right moment and you're good to go.....This reminds me of another thread where they talked about chasing asset managers into a bathroom. I don't think that's a way to impress somebody. Working close with some of these BPO people can pay off. As I said earlier, I can't wait to see how this plays out. As for somebody superior.....I agree 100%.....give credit where credit is due.

Go Candy go! I had an assignment that came to me and like a half hour later taken away - system error. I e-mailed the AM and he explained it but said if he got one in my area - he would send it over. An hour or so later - bing. He said since it showed up so quick - he figured it was meant to be. OK I'll take it - line up the stars. Good for you Candy - I hope you get a million.

Thanks Candy for the good words of wisdom. It reminds me of an old addage about sales in general, "There comes a point when you have to quit selling and ask for the order".
Thanks for reminding us all that sometimes it does not have to be hard.
Blessings to you for sharing.

I've been in this business long enough to realize this could just be lip service. I subscribe to the rule the glass is half full, rather than half empty. With that thought in mind, I'm expecting nothing but good out of this. I don't have to receive a listing for the continued Karma (wouldn't hurt, though...lol). If this thread prompts others to "just ask", and they receive something positive from it, the Karma continues. And thanks for your post as it was a pickmeup.

Glad to hear it. My Karma ran over my Dogma a long time ago. Some see the glass as half empty, some as half full, and some say "Hey, grab that shovel and help me dig this new well". I have always considered you to be in the last group.

Grampa
New well?......that's funny. I've been surrounded by doomsday prophets the past two weeks. They might consider the well a grave. I can see it now.....six of us standing around an open hole. One pops up and says, "Who's jumping in first?"....My reply would be, "Not me, I got the shovel. Somebody has to be here to cover you all up." It's all in attitude and your will to survive.

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
