So does anyone have any ideas what an average electricity bill comes out to for a commercial office building? If you can post the amount and square feet, then we could get an average $/sq. ft. amount.

Mine has skyrockted to about $7,000/mo for ~20,000 sq.ft.

or at least post up how many kwh you use and your square footage.. that should be easier.

Why not put in a solar panel system? You could then sell unused electricity back to the power company.

You might also qualify for tax credits from the federal government and there grants out there as well. It just depends if you own the building and how long you plan on staying there.

You may be able to call the power company and get the high, low and average for any property in their market.

In Reno, NV Energy has a phone service that will give you last year's high, low and average bill and if you speak with an operator they will look up past years too.

Is your state deregulated? If so you can shop around for a better price on your supply charge. Here in N.Y. our rates have gone up around 20% in the last few month so I understand your pain. Thankfully we can choose our provider and can save some money.

You seem like you have it made if you get to choose who your electrical service comes from. Here in CA it one company and one company only.
