Actually some of that stuff doesn't look real...some of the windows look totally photoshopped.

It's easy to take awesome pictures of incredibly beautiful houses...and it's easy to make an awful window look good with Photoshop.

What I'd like to see is a mediocre or even an ugly house look appealing. Anyone can take a good pic of a great house. It's hard to take a great pic of an ugly house. Which we get to list a LOT.

Let's see some exterior stuff. Nothing near the golf course..I want to see in town shots. Like when there are 6 people on the porch and you take a picture showing none of them, by using a large oak tree or an over rimmed SUV as a blocker. Please include address verification photos.

It is all real, but yes, it is photoshopped. That's how I do my work. It's called HDR. I take several photos at different exposures of the same scene. This makes it possible to pull the window views, and it also makes it possible to show dark corners as well. I also have another handful of steps specific to my style and technique.

I do, however, disagree that anyone can take a great photo of a great house. Even the most expensive camera's, and best lenses in the hands of someone who doesn't know what they are doing, can not create a great photo. It takes a lot of time, and attention to detail. I spend about 5 minutes actually taking each photo, and then I spend about another 30 minutes to 1 hour bringing it to life in photoshop. It is not possible to capture the caliber, and quality of photos that I do, by simply clicking a shutter.

As for poor houses, I would be able to take great photos of those as well. Of course I could not make the homes be as nice looking as million dollar homes, but the quality of the actual photograph would match those of the million dollar homes.

I guess my main point in commenting about it looking photoshopped is...it should not LOOK photoshopped - it should look natural. If someone can look at it and think it's "FAKE" then all credibility is lost.

The photoshopping is not an enhancement or improvement when it looks photoshopped; it's a distraction. It calls attention to the technology and away from the subject.

I do agree with Bradley that not anyone can take a great photo with a the knowledge of photography. I am also a real estate photographer but what I try to do is give a natural
view of the home so that the customer when visiting the home would not say it looked better in the photo listing
I do photoshop but mostly for color and contrast.

I also agree with Bradley, in that I am also a real estate photographer from Guelph Ontario. The thing with HDR is, that it allows the room to look more like what you would see with your eye. The eye is capable of registering many more stops of light than the lens is, so HDR, or in my case exposure fusion, is essential. I also use existing light, which many photographers may argue with me about, but it is more realistic in my opinion. The only time I reach for a flash is when the room is so dark, that the room light will not allow for anything else.

Thanks Guys

PS, my name is also Bradley.
