Anyone have any idea of what a real estate manager for a retailer makes (salary & bonus), and also, what a leasing rep for a retail REIT makes (salary & bonus)?

I realize there will be variations based on experience, geographic location, and the REIT. Say this is someone with 5 years commercial brokerage experience in the northeast (not NYC)?

Generally the pay is not that great.My friend worked for one of the biggies before going out on his own.He was paid a salary of 50k and then a bonus on top of that. Say his commission was going to be 200k for the year he might get 45k of that.

So to pay you a salary they will take a lot of money you would have made on commission only anyways.Another developer I know worked for a big REIT for over 15 years. He left because everyday is was about gobbling up companies,picking apart employees and corporations all to increase the dollar.

Some of these jobs you have to be able to stomach the duties.

If you are doing well I would stay commission based.
