hello out there!

why is it that assessor's office don't put out all the commerical property info out in public?
everytime i go to Chicago title to pull some info on retail property, it doean't have building size, what year it was built, etc....
I have to take my sorry [censored] all the way to assessor's office just to get a few building info. nowadays, they charge you 3 bucks for front page that has all the pertinent info on the property. I can't even order this online. I physically have to go to their office to get the info.

does anyone know why they don't put out all the commercial building info?

Probably because a lot of local governments are in budget shortfalls and are looking to make some money on us!

If you are in that market a lot, you might invest in MetroScan or another cross referencing database of property records.

You might also have to look in different areas as the SF and Land Acreage for commercial real estate may be a different field from where you typically look for residential because it is a different classification of property.
