You seem like a half empty kinda person.
If you want listings in the most prestigious part of town then take them. Screw who is already doing business there. There is enough business to go around.
Oh Boy - this should be fun
Oh, yes, Pine! Game on!

Bratchny, maybe my comment did sound glass-half-full. I was just adding a point that I thought was obvious though not yet mentioned. Of course, you will not get the business if you do not go for it. We all know how difficult it is to break into real estate in the first place in any market. Moving one’s business involves a certain amount of do-over. It is not a given that your current customers will move with you to the new zip codes; but I'm sure you already know that, don't you, eventhough your original post did not really allude to that fact?
Grampa is right. It takes work. I would add: It takes work, not just an address change. Again, Bratchny, you already know that, right?
Now, I would also like to add a Friendly Conversation 101 hint. “You seem like a half empty kinda person” can seem less like an attack on another poster if it is simply reworded something like, “That is a half-empty type of attitude.” It may be a fine line, but fine lines sometimes define polite behavior. You've been around the forum for a while and have surely read some of my other posts. I would surely be disappointed if the aggregate of my posts led you to conclude that I am a "half empty kinda person."
Back to the topic of moving your office over two zip codes: “Screw who is already doing business there” does indicate that you are up to the challenge, I suppose, so go for it! Good luck with the move, and I look forward to your future posts about how well the move worked for you. Though it may be fair to say that many of us have transitioned our business to REO, no posters have responded that they have moved their business address in search of a better grade of listing; so your experience will provide us all with valuable input.
