I once sold a 7 Acre Lot for $3000. 10% Commission on a Co-Broke with a 60/40 Split so's I got to keep a whopping $90.00 !.
But I remember it well as it was the Last of 10 completed Transactions required for a Brokers License. T'was a piece of dry dirt up thar in Mud Hollow.
Oh, did you ask "highest" amount? I must have mis-understood.
I don't keep track of the Dollars; just the number of Smiley Faces leaving the Closing Table!

LOL, Dayton. Perhaps it wasnt your highest but it certainly seems that it was the most memorable. I am a newbie here in Maui so I havent closed many transactions, but now that I have my website up I am definitely going after listings to get my foot in the door.

Last year I listed and sold a large farm in my area for 1.2 mil. It was a 5% commisison but reduced it to 4% since I had both sides...walked away with 48k! I worked my but off for this sale but and took almost 9 months to get it to close but it was well worth it. Doubt I'll ever see one like that again.

Commercial with land assemblages I make a few hundred k or more but the deals take about 2 years to closing. Individual commercial parcels most was about 50k. Most on a residential was an REO last year that I double ended and made 22,894.00. The buyers said they hated buyer agents and would put the offer in through me. I said NO PROBLEM! I am working on one land deal 10 acres that hasn't closed yet but we be looking at 120k on that. It's in a prime location perfect for a senior living community and right on the silver comet trail. After these closings I really need a few weeks off........

My best was about $7800 that was one sided residential deal.On this deal I helped my broker remodel his office and did not split anything with him other wise it would have been about half of that.

This is a "variation" to the question and unfortunately , it was back in Dec 2000- The check paid out to me that day was over 200k. I double ended a 3.65 million dollar property and sold the seller another high end property and all closed the same day. Yes, it was a check for the day and no, I haven't had that kind of day for too, too long but that's my best "pay day". As far as what that worked out to per transaction, I was running out the door with the check too fast to sit down and figure it out

We have very few 1 million dollar properties in my area. A 500K property is a mansion.

This was an estate property that a client bought "not through me" and I almost died...this was a seller's market and this area normally has 90 listings and it was down to 9 at one point.I had called him immediately on this and he wasn't returning calls due to him working with another agent ( I didn't know this when he wasn't returning my calls..ugh ). The buyer was closing escrow and I was helping him on some other potential properties and I asked him about his plans for the property we're talking about that was due to close in a few days( he was an architect ). I asked him, " how would you like to make a million dollars without picking up a hammer?". I knew he bought it under market and the property marketed properly, given that market, could sell for that million over. Long story short- a pocket listing - turned into full fledged listing- I worked it almost a full year. Received and negotiated about 8 offers during that time that all ended up in that cost plus million dollar mark and of course he was holding out for more. I ended up double ending it off of the full page glossy ad I referred to and sold him another high end project. I probably spent about 18k marketing it ( I was also marketing myself and spent more than I should have ) Both properties closed simultaneously and the broker did one "ta da" check to me..the buyer and seller had a stand off right before escrow was going to close and I probably learned more that week than I did my whole career.

Just throwing this out there. An agent on the East End, where I am, double ended a 6% $22 million dollar deal. It's the highest transaction out here. I don't want to figure out what she made, I would probably kill myself. $1,320,000 commission. That's not a bad payday...

Low 20s. It was 2% of SP, Aurora REO. Still think about it 2 years later.

An agent in my area recently closed on a $5.5 million listing with her own buyer. Someone is my office sold a $780,000 listing to her own buyer.

My highest commission came as a result of my being stubborn. I had a seller come into my office wanting me to list a $12 million land deal.
On land deals my commission had always been 10% and I wouldn't budge. He told me agent so and so with the national brand would do it for 5%. I wished him luck. A year later he approached me at 7.5% and I turned him down (that was harder). A month later he listed it with me at the same listing price but at my 10% rate. I found a buyer in three weeks.
You can figure out the commission. Now if only I hadn't financed a Silicon Valley start up company I would be a much happier fellow. The start up company came close but the timing was off about a year (one time when it would have be better to wait so no cigar, no jet set, no parking my yacht next to Aristotle and Jackie O's at Monte Carlo).

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
