A few years ago, I registered for a point 2 agent site and ordered a domain through them.

A while back, they have stopped offering a free site, so I found a different provider. But I stuck with the domain name purchased through them.

When I log into point2agent, it tells me to pay for their site, but all I want is to renew my domain. Is it possible, does anyone know?

Also, how do I extend the expiration of my domain without point2agent involvement?

Do a "Whois" search for your domain - the odds are that the domain is not registered in your name but to Point2. You would then need to have Point2 transfer the domain to you in order to renew it yourself. I had a client do this and Point2 complied without difficulty.

If the Whois search shows that you are the registrant then you should be able to renew by contacting the registrar shown in the whois search.

You will have to contact them and they should give you another website and login and password for it. You then can go in and unlock it. Then you can go to another provider for example Godaddy.com and transfer it there. I did that with my domain I had registered with them when I quit their service.

which domain renewal is cheapest? Poin2 is quoting about $17/year for .com domain.

My contract with Poin2 is up on the 9th. They increased their website fees again this year. My domain is registered with GoDaddy so I looked at their sites and for about $41 a year they have a 5 page webpage templete for real estate. I set mine up in about 20 minutes with all the info and my listings. Poin2 is just too much for what you get - I think GoDaddy is just fine for what I do.
