I will likely rent a place in a town nearby until I either
re-sell the land or build.

my question is- since I need not get a loan for the land purchase, will my less-than-stellar credit score ever factor into this in any way?

Cash is cash. As long as you can prove to a seller that you have it, it shouldn't be a problem.

On the other side, landlords often run a credit report before renting to a new tenant. If your "less-than-stellar-credit" is really bad, you might have a problem finding a suitable rental.

thats what i was hoping.
and hopefully 3-4 months up-front will help that rental along too.

Just curious . . . . If the land is Very Remote, how can there be a Town "nearby" which is large enough to offer Rental Units?
