Hello, I'm a newer agent(under 2 years) from VA, still working to find my way in real estate! I have learned a good bit from reading these forums, and thought it would be about time I joined in and contributed as well.

Fortunately I already had the broker lined up :-) There are plenty of brokers out there, so I would say as a new agent, its important to interview them as well and find one that can help you as well. They teach you, you earn them money, simple as that.

@ PeregrineT . That is exactly what I was going to say. I interviewed 13 companies before I chose CB as my first. I went on to have several Brokers and each had their own benefits.

#1 advice given to me was meet 10 people a day and let them know what you do. For the sake of argument lets say 9 out of 10 didn't care that much. By the end of 30 days you have 30 people that actually think about you and may be a part of your first deal within a few months. By the end of the year.... :) do the math! You'll have struck a deal. Now while I give that advice I also say keep it real. I suggest reading Jennifer Allan author of, "Sell With Soul". She has some great points about keeping it real.

All The Best,
John Perkins

I've been in real estate since 2006 and it's been challenging. I hardly post though I do lurk.
