Equator just had a press release about a new platform for mid level servicers. In it they claim to have 665,000 agents available.

Has anyone experienced this:

Accepting a BPO order with Equator and then two minutes later it disappears from your accepted job list?

I thought I was crazy because it happened so fast, but yes.

So I emailed equator asking what happened to my bpo order. I told them that it must have been my lucky day because I was finally (after 2 years or so) able to accept an order.

Here's what one of the AMs told me:

I manually entered this order into Equator. I have an agent in the area that does BPO’s that I had already contacted about doing the BPO. It is a rush and I needed to ensure that it would be completed by Monday. When I enter the order manually I have to assign it to the agent once the order is uploaded. I apologize for any inconvenience.

So it doesn't even matter if I'm fast enough to accept them. They're basically pre-assigning them.

Wow. Like it's not already close to impossible to get them before they're gone...not right at all.

The twenty something bucks I pay a month for zips is just salt on the wound.

I deleted my paid-for zip codes because I think they're focused on selling zip codes to REALTORS waaaaaaay more than BPO assignments.

The worst thing about paying per zip is that not all zips have business in them.

I have to pay the same amount per zip (13) in a county that has a 80,000+- population, which means long drives to get to many.

If you live in a metro area you could have more SFR in a relatively small area - and have many more households per zip.

If fact - if the density is high enough - you basically could shop neighborhoods.

I'm in a huge metropolitan area over over 1 million people and I bought about 20 zipcodes -- the only times I got a "blast" was around the first of the month when my payments were due.

Blasts gone before they're posted and deleted after they're grabbed -- it's just too shady to believe they're serious about BPO's, imo.

I just received my second order with them. Both in my "free" zip code. I've been a member with them for just over a year. I pay for 3 zips now and I added two more.
