Many agents make the mistake of shooting up onto something or holding the camera at a slight unintentional tilt. Sometimes it's an effective artistic angle but most often it is just unprofessional and distracting.

Thanks for your comment again Perky_REALTOR.
Shooting up or down for an effective artistic look unfortunately doesn't cut it with a point and shoot camera for this purpose (trying to give the potential buyer a decent look at the interior room). However drastic angles can be appealing if the vertical elements are parallel to each other. This of course can be achieved with a large format camera that has a tilt and swivel back. The kind I used when shooting architectural photography for magazine publications. I'm sure many would agree that these type cameras are not used or needed most of the time here.

If you squat down halfway (good for the thighs!) or hold the camera at chest height like the writer said, you'll get a better photo of the room.

I see more bad pictures on the MLS than I see good ones. It really amazes me that the sellers are even ok with how bad they look, assuming they even know about it.

Thanks for the comment KnoxvilleRealtor.
Yes I have found most realtors continue to post poor quality images of their properties. And yet they would agree that image is important. I will be posting more real estate photography tips soon. See my blog here. Realtors can choose to take a little time and learn how to improve their photos or hire services such as mine for more professional results. We offer high quality low cost photography, video and 360 degree panorama tours.

I definitely agree that most pictures on MLS are not of good quality. Would you say it's lack of training that keeps agents from posting quality pictures? Then again, maybe the posting agent finds the pictures vividly portray the property as it is.

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however.
