What is the best way to find Brokers who are looking for newly licensed agents? I passed the GA RE exam last Friday and have an inactive license. Other than cold-calling, which I'll hopefully be doing lots of in the very near future, is there a place where they typically advertise? I'm specifically interested in the Atlanta area.

There should be a list of brokers at your Real Estate School.

The Atlanta area encompasses about 15 to 20 counties.

What are your goals?? Full time agent or do a few deals a year?

Full time. I was ***LUCKY*** enough to be laid off from a job that had become unbearable over the last few years and they gave me a year's severance with medical insurance. I would ultimately like my area to be Marietta and/or in-town but at first I am willing to do just about anything just about anywhere. However, I want my base office to be in the areas I mentioned (or not far from) as I live in close-in Marietta.

Well I keep costs down by my agents working out of their home office, internet cafes, meeting clients at their work or restaurants etc.

I have agents all over Atlanta. My cost is 289.00 per transaction but as a new agent your 1st sale would be at a 70/30 split because of the training involved.

If interested send me a private message on here.

TimBer,

Almost all brokerages welcome new agents (they are, after all, great for hosting open houses and doing floor time). Some agencies are better than others when it comes to mentoring and training newbies.

Getting a license is only the start of your journey. You sort of know the parameters of real estate law, and you will now begin to learn the specifics. What you don't know yet, though, is how to make a living in real estate. At first, you may not bring much business to the table (there are exceptions, of course), so you need to affiliate with a brokerage that has a plan to help you cultivate your own business base.
