Now hold on a minute. Azul was charged with a felony and it was reduced to a misdemeanor on a plea agreement; so, she was actually convicted of a misdemeanor.

I've been out of the criminal prosecutor's office for a number of years (and worked in juvie court (those kids get away with murder (sic)) and this charge of hers was reduced to a misdemeanor. That's not a felony CONVICTION.

And, if the case was expunged - Lord knows I've done more than my fair share of juvenile expungements - it's sealed forever unless a judge orders it opened - and it takes a STRONG order to have it opened.

I would have clammed up and not spoken to the police so I'm happy to hear Azul has learned that - and everyone else needs to learn that too. When you're the defendant - the police are NOT going to be your friend - even if you're innocent - only a rare cop is going to be on your side and don't go thinking you're the lucky one who has found that rare cop.

It's always easier to charge a suspect with a higher charge and have it reduced b/c you can't take a lesser charge and raise it higher.

Azul - thanks for your learning experience.

On a better note, you'll need to be patient to work through this. If it were easy to be an agent, everyone would do it. There are lots of successful people that had to go through the same thing (just lookup the life story of Judge Mathis).

Patience is a key part of being an agent. In our line of work, it can take 30 days or more to get paid from start to finish. Getting the license is just the beginning. Best of luck to you :-)

major undderstatement. try servicing a listing for ONE YEAR, then you get a good offer, and the AMC is bought by another company, then new company yanks the listing from you before the offer is accepted. these things happen. In general, typical DOM, depending on the market, usually over 30 days, plus escrow time. you're usually looking at several months, start to finish. and that's assuming the escrow doesn't fall through just before closing and you get paid nothing. it's a long process. If you like working for free, this is the business to be in!

That is totally false. You are not in her shoes to make a comment like that. Whatever her conviction was and I am sure she has served her punishment but there is nothing wrong with being proactive no one else is going to do it for her . Good Luck Azul!

when I watch the COPS television shows, I am always amazed and amused at how the alleged offenders let the police into their homes without hesitation. or they are easily baited to exit their home to speak to the officers. LOL. If the cops do not have an arrest warrant, you are NOT obligated to ever let an officer in your home, and you certainly shouldn't be baited to go outside your home to discuss anything. In fact, you shouldn't even open the door. If the police want to talk, you can talk through the door, or they can call you on the phone. It's just amazing how easily people are bullied by the cops.
