While it may not be unique to Florida, under the rules of the Florida Real Estate Commission, a licensee may incorporate as a PA, have their commission checks written to the PA and operate like a corporation, even though they actually are an independent contractor. Unless it has changed recently, a licensee (agent or broker associate) may not be paid as a corporation (C or S type).
It's a way to shift personal liability to a corporate entity. But the rule is that they must advertise and promote themselves as, for instance, Aristotle Agent, P.A.
