I get tired sometimes (as I am sure we all do) of typing out long addendums to reports. So someone I know (who is not in the RE buiz) told me about Dragon software. So I wanted to know if anyone is using it or has tried a similar software? I do not see from my google searches that a free demo is available. Any thoughts?? I am thinking about being a "guinea pig" and possibly trying it out.

I tried it about 12yrs ago and it didn't work very well. A lot has changed in 12ys and perhaps it works better now.

Made by Nuance, used on my cell phone. Not a fan. Doesn't recognize Yes (when used as a yes no answer). How many inflections of yes are there? Apparently too many for my cell phone.

Hmmm, I just downloaded Dragon Dictation application on my iPhone. Works ok. Only lets you dictate about 3 sentences at a time though. I'll probably only use it for short responses to emails or text messages while driving, etc.

Brad you read my mind. I was researching this this morning in fact. Im looking into it because Id like to be a writer in my next life and maybe this one too. I first saw this program in some infomercial and didnt catch the name. Thanks so much for providing the link for their web site. Id also welcome any feedback anyone has on it.

I purchased it for 49 through amazon and it requires a quiet room and quality headset, overall it is ok and is a time saver, my biggest issue is having a quiet area to work. You have to watch what it types closey. Amazon sent a headset haven't tried it with that. For 49 it is worth a try for your system. The actual data entry is not fast enough but in the comments section it is very nice.

Crash:

It sounds like a technology that will only improve over time. My only question is: does the software understand the end of a sentance and does it use a period at the end of that sentance and a capital letter with the next word? I would hate to have to go back and make all those grammer corrections.

Has anyone used the Professional PC version? It allows you to use on forms like our BPO forms. Otherwise, the home version only types in a program like Word, when we need each little box filled. The system needs to know which box you want filled. I am very curious, since I have computer injury from repetitive movement.
