It meanders back and forth. The people who like this thread, like it. smile

I see no reason to be a heavy handed mod. I left the City Data Forums a LONG time ago, along with most of the regular posters, when the new mod came in like Hitler to keep everyone STRICTLY ON TOPIC and kept directing little rabbit trails to other threads, that then annoyed the posters who were enjoying the conversation taking its natural flow. The only one bothered by the rabbit trails, apparantly, was the moderator, and now the mod is left there with a handful of the posters that used to be there, moderating the same "Hi I'm new, what is there to do in the area" posts...over and over. New people don't stay cause there's nothing to engage with.

If the admin feels that this thread has run its course, then of course he reserves the right to close the thread. I think closing it would upset a lot more people than solve any problems however.

I could never enjoy my career if it involved demon dialers and hood-winking strangers into working with me using "scientific" hustle scripts. That's just not my idea of a fun career.

However, to each his own. If that type of activity appeals to you, go ahead and do it. You'll probably earn a few bucks, although nowhere near the inflated claims posted on this forum.

I'm taking everything I read with a 10lb bag of salt smile however, just logically it makes more sense that if you call people to get business you get to choose who and where you call (just like you were writing, that you choose which FSBOs/expireds to contact)...

I don't know about hours yet, but seeing as you, lucky, hunter have been in business for a very long time, I would expect that your hours have improved... I cannot imagine myself 20 years down the road working 24/7 and depending on the whimsy of every client... I have a family, and am looking at this as a business and an opportunity to directly tie my output to my input (which I cannot do if I go back to my original career path, as I would depend on others a lot more)...

Do I want to enjoy it? Of course... Do I want to make money? For sure... The ultimate goal is getting the best return possible per hour... even if the total will be less than if I worked longer hours (within a certain reasonable amount, of course)... Do I think it will be fun to randomly call people? No way... Would I be willing to do it if it meant that I could follow a proven system without relying on one individual to teach me/help me/support me? You betcha... Once I gain more experience I would probably be able to move away from that system if I didn't enjoy myself, but guess what, I cannot say that I will enjoy never spending evenings/weekends at home with my family, and would love to hold open houses or take people out to help them shop... It's all a question of what ROI I can get... really...

One thing I will not compromise is my moral beliefs and ethics... I had someone tell me yesterday that I will have to lie to people and "make" them buy homes... if a script requires that, I will not do it, as I need to be able to live with myself too...

At this point, I don't see anything wrong with trying to combine various approaches (including scripts) and see what works best for my personality, approach, etc.

Navarac, the biggest problem here as I see it is that you have admitted that you hide behind a screen name so you can be rude and nasty with no repercussions. You think it's your appointed duty to warn new agents about never paying anyone for anything, and you aren't offering anything of value to replace what they aren't getting. You are basically a troll who is ruining conversations between people who are trying to discuss time tested proven methods of lead generation. Everyone gets that you don't agree with the method. I have been in this business for 25 years and frankly the methods you suggest don't work for a lot of people. So its time for you to STFU or maybe start a thread that's helpful.

I don't understand why the moderators let you spew your vitriol like you did when the SEO guy posted. I think it was a solicitation for business and should have been moved to the appropriate section but your response was uncalled for.

Sorry, I am tired of SEO hustlers, so I was a bit feisty when he popped on the forum hawking his nonsense, which is a violation of the TOS. However, SEO is in fact a big-time fraud these days, with guys seeking big monthly income while hustling innocent agents into believing that SEO is some black art that needs high paid gurus to decipher. There is no reason at all to pay for this "service" in this day and age, so I am protecting new agents from wasting potential marketing dollars on this nonsense. Yes I did it in a humorous and sarcastic fashion. Sue me. I would rather use comedy to make my point, it is more entertaining, both for me and the other forumites who have a sense of humor.

If you don't like my humorous and witty style, by all means, block me. In fact, everyone should block me. Then I will be simply talking to myself. Which I do anyway...

By the way, one of my pet peeves is little Nero moderators who fly off on power trips and censor everything with a heavy hand. I am glad you are not moderating. As long as there are no personal attacks or inappropriate threats, etc, just moderate yourself and let freedom of speech run its course.

It's 12 noon and I have a thousand things to do and am going to argue about which of us is more fun? No. Although I do believe that I am way more fun than you, I have to risk my life right now evaluating vacant houses in Paterson. Hopefully I will return alive to continue spewing vitriol and invective as I bitterly decry the methods of my opponents.

Navistar,

Lucky's friend V-PowerMan was earning similar money to Lucky.
I lived on his street for years, he worked from 8-8 Mon to
Friday with one full time assistant. He never worked weekends.
I would here him shouting on his cell phone on a Sat or Sun
I TOLD YOU I WILL GET TO IT ON MONDAY!, very loud and aggresive. You are right most agents me included would be working 7 days a week to do a third of his production.
Most agents just shake their heads at the amount of production
he does. If you look at the chart bellow it would put him in
the elite category which is less than i percent of agents.
Keep in mind for the newbie it will take them years and years
to reach even a intermdiate level and most will never ever
get to advanced let alone Elite. (it's 12 O'clock and I have finished my calls)

Intermediate

A person who has engaged in regular training for up to two years. The intermediate level indicates some degree of specialization in the exercises and a high level of performance at the recreational level.

Advanced

An individual with multi-year training experience with definite goals in the higher levels of competitive athletics.

Elite

Refers specifically to athletes competing in strength sports. Less than 1% of the weight training population will attain this level.

I have a relative who does that - she does ALL that...and her house is mortgaged several times over - can't even afford to sell it now. Just because people are doing "wonderful" stuff doesn't REALLY mean they can afford it. This relative puts on a "show", and she ain't making no six figures a year. Her husband would divorce her but the child support payments would kill him worse.

i do all that..and still live very comfortable because i have earned over 6 figures since my first year in the busuness...it does help my average is 400-500k..

so 6 figures can be attained from a few deals...

but im in this to win it...i want 50 to 100 transactions...

the 500k-1 million...

gonna take alot of hard work..actual work..

being on a schedule using scripts and canned presentations and time management...

ya know all the stuff 90 percent of agents DONT like to do...cause its not FUN...

im cool wit daT :-)
