You may have all of my Iowa work.
Some States and Commonwealths require E&O. Most (I think) do not.
E&O allows you to sleep at night.
If you and your Agents never make mistakes, you can go without (unless Iowa requires it). Perfect as I am, I have made a mistake periodically. (Part of being perfect is realizing you aare not infallible).
Deductibles are typically high (like $5000 and up). All incidents must be reported (not just those that where a Summons appears).
Having E&O means your are more of a Candidate for being sued than not having it.
Most disputes involve monetary settlements (out of Court) that are far less than the Deductible.
E&O is similar to Catastrophic Medical Coverage. It's not much help for minor aches and pains. It's for things like Brain Cancer. Not everyone gets brain cancer; but when you do, it hurts real bad.
Just some quick thoughts. Do people in Iowa actually sue one another ?
I reserve the right to amend my comments.
