We have a $500,000 home under contract as the selling agent. It is listed by Weichert Relo and they insisted that we prequalify with Weichert Financial. (WFS) The WFS lender told my client that no matter who they financed with, the title insurance would be paid by Weichert RELO. We put the property under contract after we were told that all of the inspection defects on their inspection had been corrected. (Again before binding agreement) There is more, but that is enough to get the picture. All of these facts are not refuted by Weichert.
Now, Weichert says that they are not responsible for Title Insurance and the defects noted on their inspection that were not fixed (90% of them) are also not their responsibility.
I want to walk my client, but they really want the house; any suggestions. I took it up with a RELO supervisor and his fact finding was totally false. My next step is to go to Weichert Corporate; they are really a mess to deal with.
Any Weichert agents who can help me get this to someone who is ethical and understands the law as well as our ethical requirements in dealing with the public?
