The season is upon us and in full swing. I thought of starting this thread last week, but got a little busy with BPO's...Soooo, here goes.....Christmas Wish List 2009
Do you all remember the song of the season while growing up? Mine was "All I want for Christmas are my two front teeth" (that should date me). Fast forward to my kids's day and it was "Grandma got ran over by a reindeer"....not sure what my grandkids are listening to. Now, this doesn't take away from the religeous and traditional songs,as they still swell my heart with joy.....
Here are my Christmas wish's for the season:
1. Peace on earth, good will toward man (and woman)
2. All our troops come home safe soon
3. All my forum friends have good health, and an abundance of REO'S and BPO's in 2010
4. Santa to bring me a hearing aid so as I can understand my friends in India (I have been loosing my hearing)
5. More patience with new people in QC.
6. 48 hour days (24 hours are not enough..lol)
7. To have our two girls from Texas, come back to the forum, as they're sadly missed.
8. To members in our forum that are having some current health issues (I do know of a couple)....get well, soon.
9. To be able to continue forth with the feelings generated this time of year to every month, not just December.
10. Same as the first...Peace on earth, good will towards man (and woman).
Merry Chistmas, gang.........

Candy, love the list and number 1 is my response every year to my kids request for what I want for Christmas. I have always asked for this, starting with Peace in the house-Good will towards your siblings. Now children go forth and pass it on. They always roll their eyes!
Add to my list: patience and a less critical outlook for me!

This is going to be my last post for awhile. I have some business to take care of that kinda snuck up on me and will have no access to a computer. I would truly love to see somebody keep this thread going in the spirit and theme that was intended. Chat with you all when I get back.....take care.....

Maybe we need a standard place to post a sort of "check out" when we are leaving for a short time so our forum friends don't think we have gone TEXAS.

I am praying we all have the good fortune to make smart decisions to navigate us and our families through the next year.
I am seeking grace from God for good decision making ability in every aspect of my day, so that what I do brings goodness to the world.
I am thankful for the health of myself, my friends and my family for the last year and thoughtfully hope next year to be as healthy.
I am hopeful I will find new and greater ways to spend time with my family as we enrich each other, learning what the other has to offer, parent to child, sibling to sibling, spouse to spouse.
I pray that God will guide me down the roads, streets, aves, highways and biways back home with no scratches or dings to my self or my soul.
If things go not my way and seem south to be, then I pray for strength to see why I must not let down those who count on me.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to All

My wish for everyone of this forum,
May peace break into your house and may thieves come to steal your debts. May the pockets of your jeans become a magnet of $100 bills. May love stick to your face like Vaseline and may laughter assault your lips! May your clothes smell of success like smoking tires and may happiness slap you across the face and may your tears be that of joy. May the problems you had forget your home address! In simple words . . . May 2010 be the best year of your life!!! specially for you Candyman ...take care !!!oh almost forgot and be merciful specially with the newbies :)

Well - I hope all goes well for everyone tonight and on Christmas.
The weather reports in the Blue Ridge Mountains are not good, even though we have an All Wheel drive Van, it won't do very well on the 1/2" of ice that is being forecast for our destination.
So for the first times since my wife and I have been married, and for the first time in my life that I recall - we are doing the safe thing and unexpectedly staying home tonight and Christmas.
This means not seeing any family, our children, grandchildren, parents, and basically being alone with each other. Not at all what we worked for or planned - but we are glad we have each other. For that - I am very grateful.
We'll see everyone later, if not sometime this weekend perhaps in the weeks to come.
If anyone wants to post tomorrow - I will check now and then to keep you company.
Goodnight, God Bless & Merry Christmas

A body at rest will tend to stay at rest. A body in motion will tend to stay in motion. Doing nothing is always an option available for consideration.
I saw three (3) accidents on I-91 last evening (4:30 to 7:00 PM) and the people being scraped up off the icy pavement and put on stretchers probably had second thoughts about the wisdom of venturing out . . . . if they had any thoughts at all. All those flashing blue and red strobe lights weren't very Christmassy at all.

Well I slowed cooked 6 pounds of pot roast in my crockpot. I started last night and dredged 3 pieces of chuck in flour and rubbed in salt, garlic powder, pepper, oregano, basil, and a few other spices. Then with meat at room temp I put olive oil in pan and seared on each side for 4 minutes apiece then I out in crockpot. I put 2 cans beef broth,1 can water,3/4 cup sherry and then onions, celery, and carrots. Let slow cook overnight for 9 hours then cut red potatoes, carrots, onions, and celery on top for the last hour. The vegetables on bottom for flavor are mush after 9 hours so I put in new veggies on top for the last hour to eat with the roast beef. It was simply awesome the meat just melted apart and was so tender and juicy! We had an Applewood smoked, sugar cured ham along with the pot roast, yeast rolls, and green bean casserole. Then for dessert with had homemade fudge double chocolate, and peanut butter/chocolate mix. I have enough left over for a few days. The mother-in-law and brother-in-law complimenting me over and over on how awesome it tasted didn't bother me in the least! I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday as I am so relaxed now.......

Super, sounds delectable. You must have a good relationship with the in-laws. Sounds like they will be back for more.
If you want to get rid of them serve tuna and crackers for breakfast tomorrow. Don't open the tuna for them, just leave the can on the table and toss a can opener down with a good clank. Do the same with a sleeve of saltines that have fallen a few times. Make sure to brew coffee with today's used coffee grounds. Mix in a flat old beer if you have one. Make sure the sugar has a good bit of salt mixed in with it.
If that doesn't work, suddenly run to the window and exclaim, "Oh my gosh, You won't believe it." Then run to the door. Let them precede you out the door. Close it and lock the dead bolt. If you make sure they have their keys when they go outside, they'll stop banging and screaming after about 15 minutes and drive away. If you can time this while your wife is still in bed or taking a shower, it will make things a lot easier. You can smooth things over with her later.
My in-laws come from out of the country and stay for 8 weeks. We have a good relationship, but as you can imagine it is tested towards the end. I'm just joking around, well sort of...

I just revisited this post and found that my Christmas Wish List for 2010 is the same as last years. For me, this has always been a special time of year. Each year seems to pass faster than the previous. As I look back on 2010, I've asked myself, "Where did it go?". From the bottom of my heart, gang......."I wish you all a Merry Christmas....enjoy your family and friends. They're here today and no guarantee for tomorrow (or next Christmas)"...love ya all.

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
