I was actually just contacted by them asking if I would be interested in doing some work for them last week. I have not been able to do any research on them yet besides going to their website. I just have not had the time. But I think I will make time to do so.

Altisource is a subsidiary of Ocwen and the time it takes to get the work depends on what you signed up for. Currently they are running 3 platforms. They have traditional PP work that they assign, then they have this new deal where they give you inspection orders in batches, 10 days to complete them, and if the particular property you did the inspection on ends up needing PP then you get the job. Inspection orders pay $6 but the form is super easy to complete and THEN they have a business verification dept, which is new, where they pay you $25 to deliver a letter to a business and verify they exist. Altisource also has an REO division for Realtors. If you are signed up for any one of these deals, make sure you ask to sign up for the others, as well. You will then have to go through their annoying training but it increases your chances of getting more work.

I just got approved with Altisource: bpo is $35 and cma $65
Is this just a mill or a source for possible listing? Any information would be helpful.

I just signed up with them to do pp work here in NJ. I was told they should have 150-200 homes coming up this month. We will see.

Yes I currently do have them as a vendor in Las Vegas. They do have a lot of work but you now have to compete for it since Altisource came into the game they are really starting to undercut you as much as possible. Regarding getting paid you must stay on top of them if not they will not review it and only approve it until you contact them and complain. Customer service is located in India. There is sometimes an accent barrier and you may have to ask for them to repeat themselves to understand them unless you are from india. They may not also understand what may need to be done to the property in the different states in order for them to pass the apprasal inspection to fund the loan. Once they do know what needs to be done to get rid of the REO they will want it done within 7 days or less. They want cheap and fast. I hope this helps you.

When they were Ocwen you were able to go up on the price now they are set in my area at $40 for a BPO and $65.00 for a CMA. They are not a Mill and could turn into a listing. Before you would have to do around 20 and they will evaulate you for a listing now it's not a limit.

They are all different types of businesses, some are just to verify the business exists for credit card terminals, some are to deliver letters for other transactions... I don't see why you coulnd't have a runner do them... it's sort of like when I send my subs out for the prop pres.... Oh, I got 3 prop pres orders from the $6 ($5.85 after their fee for depositing) inspection orders for residential... I send someone to do all of those, too.
We wait until we have 10 in an area and then I send my runner out to get the pics. If the property is vacant, we get the preservation. I currently am their exclusive vendor in my area so I get a lot of orders!

altisource is now hiring their own in house brokers to handle entire states and/or regions. Currently Florida and Texas are handled by 1 broker each. They also no longer accept REO negotiations, they have their own bid site that is slow as molasses and you have to bid like you do for HUD

They denied my application due to a misdemeanor on my record that happened 14 years ago. I have actually had problems with this with other companies too. I just find it really funny that these companies that deny me, go and pick up vendors of people with little or no experience. Also, Altisource has no customer experience. It is up to their Compliance Dep to approve and deny a vendorship. Once you are denied, they wont let you discuss the why with them, and they simply tell you there is nothing that they can do because they can not overturn a denial decision.

I come to believe that these companies have no dignity. They are almost all the same. They will do anything possible to save or steal a buck. And that includes hiring on these rookie vendors that will not only do the work for cheap, but will also do it wrong in the 1st place, and be given a chargeback.

I even worked with MCS for 2 years, had a background check done in accordance with them both years. They just now terminated me because of a "red flag" on it from 14 years ago. Even funnier, I have only ever had one single chargeback from them. Now all of a sudden I have 7 of them.

This profession is cruel so be careful out there and take the necessary steps to protect your investment at all times. These guys will chew you up and spit you out, just to do it all over again. Then they will just move along when you stop kicking.

With everything changing, the people getting more and more needy, and the requirements increasing, I am seriously contemplating on getting out. I had a great run and learned quite a bit, but I think seriously I could make more money from making hand made jewelery now.

Best of luck to all you experienced vendors out there. And the new ones, well, you may want to think twice, it is real rough.

Its not even the money thats really THE problem with these companies, it is the ethics from which these companies run off of. I started my company 5 years ago, in the midst of that oil crisis where gas was around $4/gal. With my 1 ton I get no more than 10miles/gal, and thats going down hill with a tail wind. I enjoyed every aspect of doing what I do. Now the last 6 months, not so much anymore. With Obama doing his part to screw with crap all the time, and the ever increasing threat of sue happy people suing vendors like us, making us take out more and more insurance, even anti terrorism insurance. It has become far too much of a headache to make sure you got your butt covered. And to make sure you take every exact photo properly. My latest chargeback from MCS was because I had 2 different dates on my photos. It was such a large scale job that it took me 2 days to complete. That one has got me so pissed off, I want to take that 40yd dumpster and empty it back onto the property.

Aaron, find some better clients. MCS is the worst of them all. We've recently dropped them. They make it nearly impossible to make money.

I've sent several email to Ocwen about the digital locks in the MS area due to the state laws you can't disable all locks and add a digital locks, MS still require one of their supra key box on a door with a working lock. Never receive an email back on this requirement. I've received a noticed from MS stating we will be fine if we proceed with this.

I am not impressed with Ocwen's prices or their support staff. I could not understand the broken English and the accent of the offshore support.

I don’t like the idea of having to spend $60 to $70 dollars and only making $30- and having to wait 60+ days for payment, from installing the digital lock.

I think it’s a bad initial rekey program and it wont last and they go back to locks and lockboxs.

They had security lock on back door and front door was wide open

P.S:I like your logo.

I'm doing a BPO where the main front door had a digital lock. It worked nice, but the problem came when the garage needed a different key and the front store unit needed another commercial key. I couldn't get into either of those sections of the subject since there was no lockbox with the other keys. Obviously the lock vendor did not want to install 3 digital locks and only get paid for one. Very inefficient system.

Yeah. I just noticed their "In House" brokers. I listed and sold one a few months ago. No I am noticing that they are being listed by a real estate broker running under the business name "Altisource". So, now that I know I wont be getting anymore listings from them (if they are going to be listed with Altisource), then that surely makes me NOT want to do their BPO's or CMA's. what were they thinking? OK. So list them all in house and good luck getting agents to do the BPO work. Not anymore. I did not mind doing their low paying bpo work previously when I was getting listings from them. Somebody please correct me if I am viewing this wrong. But somehow I just dont see that I will be getting any listings from them now that they have a Tennessee Brokerage firm called Altisource in Memphis TN listing houses in Nashville TN (which is 2 hours away)

Hi Propertyclean, was inquiring as to whether or not you received any work from Altisource after you completed the training. They have so much going on, just wanted to know if it has been working out.
