I am a brand new agent and have been in the business for less than 4 months. What is the best way for me to start getting exposure with blogging?

I have my own website and have created an account with googles "blogger".

So now what? Just start blogging on it? How do I get people to read it? I do I get exposure to the blog?

I'd say the best way is to watch and observe other bloggers, and observe their blogging habits.

The biggest thing to keep in mind is that most successful bloggers put most of their energy into reading other people's blogs, and adding valuable comments to those blogs. It's all of those comments & links that get valuable traffic back to their sites.

You may also want to try Activerain, as that platform has a lot of Google juice associated with it. Good luck!

Write quality content targeted to the audience you want to attract. Over time, readers will find your blog when they search using terms and keywords in the content of the articles you write on your blog.

I notice you are on a Microsoft server. Is there anyway you can FTP your posts to your domain from Blogger? Create a blog suddirectory on your domain and each time you write a post-- ftp to the subdirectory.

I FTP with my business blog-- however I am on a Linux platform and do not host on a coldwell banker site. The real question here-- is whether it is your domain and if not-- whether coldwell banker will allow blogs.

It is always better to have the blog on the private domain rather than a blogger domain.

Q...

Use RSS to syndicate content from one blog to another. There are many plug ins that will allow you to do this. Use a wordpress platform on your private domain.

I recommend setting up your new blog through Wordpress. The possibilities are limitless and there is support everywhere. There are also numerous themes and plug-ins available to help you out with SEO too!

New accounts do not show up in Google. you have to pay to unlock that feature...about $40 a month!

That said, ActiveRain is invaluable as a place to pick up all sorts of great tips and blogging advice. Plus your PROFILE PAGE is FREE and will show up in Google - so you have to be creative and use that to your advantage.

Google Custom Forum Search

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
