Hello everyone.

I'm a high school senior exploring different careers. I want to make a good living earning at LEAST $50,000 a year and spend no more than four years in college. I have a few questions that need answering.......

1) Will it be easy to find a job once I earn a degree?

2) Will it be possible to earn a six figure income once I've worked for 5 or so years?

3) If I work for a Real estate company like Prudential or ReMax, who gets the commission?

4) Where is the best region to work?

5) How much money does an agent make on the average?

Thank you for taking time to answer these questions.

Depends on supply and demand. If the supply of similar graduates in a given field is lower than the demand, then you'll find employment.
2) Will it be possible to earn a six figure income once I've worked for 5 or so years?
Possibly. But you'll need to be prepared to put up with the lean times in the first 1-3 years.

3) If I work for a Real estate company like Prudential or ReMax, who gets the commission?
All brokerages get paid - either by taking a percentage of your earned commission or from desk fees. Remax typically charges desk fees, which can be a very high expense for a beginner.

4) Where is the best region to work?
You'd need to study the market, learn where the trends are. It can change based on local economies and population growth.

5) How much money does an agent make on the average?
They say 20% of the agents make 80% of the money. The first couple of years can be rough. Hard work and determination, with a solid business plan, can help you rise in the industry to a six figure income.

Thank you for taking time to answer these questions.
Good luck to you. I think it's great that you're asking these questions now. What are you going to major in?

Real Estate is both lucrative and rewarding. It can also be the toughest job you've ever had!

If you're lazy, don't like or get along with people, or lose your temper easily, then don't do it!

Also, don't ever use an online-lead provider. They're a rip-off.

K.

You also have to have the right personality and people skill. You have to be willing to deal with strangers and make friends with all kinds of people. It is a touch call to decide what kind of job will fit you.

To Delores, I'm planning on majoring in Business Admin.
