dancingguy happy with the bpo work I get, however, a colleague asked me tonight, "so with all the bpo's you're doing, have you ever even gotten a hint of a listing?"
Actually NO!!! I'm not sure but the majority of companies I work for are mills. I would say that I would never get a listing, right?
AND for the most part, even though I am asked to do a bpo on a property that it in foreclosure, I'm asked to give a fair market value(double??), how could the client ever think I could market this property as a reo if I'm giving a fair market value.

I guess the real question is............if you work for mills will you ever get the chance of a listing?
or if you thought you'd like a listing should you stop working for mills?

The more bpos you do the more the asset managers see your name. However the chances of the asset manage using you for the listing are slim to none since they use their own database for agents. Sign up for as many companies as you can and do as many bpos as you can.

Been there done that........just not sure I'm signed up/work for companies that can give me a listing! The bottom line is that reo's scare me but everyone I know who's had one has sold it in less than a month!

Doing BPOs will not help you get REO listings.BPO companies do not list foreclosures. You need to sign up with asset management companies.

That is about 99% correct. I have done literally thousands of CC BPOs and I did get a call last year from an AM who wanted to know if I would like to list a home I did a BPO for. Apparently she liked the job I did with that report. She seemed offended when I declined the offer, as I have no desire to list or sell property at this point in my life.

Someone who I know locally that also does BPOs FT in my area recieved a listing from doing a M2M BPO for the same reason. He listed the property and later sold it. So it can happen, but from my experiences its very rare.

All of my listings came from doing BPOs with mills. In some cases the original agent botched the job, but in most it seems like a new AM who had not established a preferred agent list was looking for a fresh face.
