Hello all,

my name is Alex, im 24 from Menomonee Falls, Wi.

i currently work a dead end job for the last 5 years of my life, its getting old.

i been looking for new things to jump into, obviously the real estate market isnt the best right now and people are out alot, and agents arent getting sales like they used to since the bubble popped (not everywhere but im sure some are still selling and buying 8k credit.)

anyways i have a friend who just recently signed up and got his real estate license, he signed up with a broker Homestead Reality here in Milwaukee. his dues are 100$ a month he told me.

He told me he has a few friends in real estate and they never work a regular job and can enjoy life freely without having such a time demanding job, he told me that they only do BPOs and alot of them.

he just got his license and right away told me he signed up with a company and get 5 BPOs at 45$ each. now that may not sound like much, but thats something i could do on a weekly basis on top of my fulltime job for extra income.

on top of this i could pursue people who want to list there home or want to buy a home for extra income.

am i making any sense? im all too new to this and i need to know everything i can know about how fast i can get my license, what is required and at what cost.

i also need to know about BPOS, who does them and how often do you do them and whats your income like?

you never get anywhere by working for someone else and at my age im ready to get the lifestyle i been working so hard to achieve, i live well now but i want to live BETTER and im willing to do anything i can do legally to have it happen.

thanks all and i hope to be a long time member/ AGENT sometime in the future :)

-Alex

Why not ask your friend, he seems like the best source of info?

Some might think we are independent; but please bear in mind that even after you are an Independent Broker . . . . you're still working to serve others: Namely the General Public as represented by the Secretary of State in your Jurisdiction; supervised by your Real Estate Commission; monitored by your Sellers and your Buyers; always in accordance with HUD and EPA; the NAR, your State REALTORŪ Association, and local Boards; plus a few Banks and Mortgage Companies; and the Rules and Regulations associated with being in the MLS.

Some still say that Real Estate in the USA is one of the most highly regulated industries in the World . . . . so don't let the word "independent" bring all kinds of warm and fuzzy thoughts of freedom come to your head. There are lots of entities watching over your every move telling you what you can and can't do.

Please note that I didn't even touch on how many other bosses you will have while doing your preliminary work as a SalesPerson under the auspices of a Broker who is going to take on the vicarious responsibility of supervising your work, and your interactions with other people.

Still, it might be the right vocation for you.
