Are there rules/laws against directly soliciting agents that are with other agencies?
Until about 8 years ago, there was a prohibition in the NAR Code of Ethics against soliciting the Licensees of other Brokers, which was regarded as interferring in a contractual relationship between a Principal (Broker) and an Agent (Licensee). I had thought it was still in place until I was educated (and humiliated) when we had this discussion last year regarding EXIT, and I was corrected:
Soliciting the Licensees of other BrokersAs you can see, it is still frowned upon; but not specifically prohibited anymore. I have to make sure I keep up with the changes that they make without consulting me.
