Let's put senior housing posts in this thread. Here is the first one.

We may also need a generational housing thread eventually.

Check out these gorgeous apartments for seniors. They have charging stations for hybrid vehicles, solar panels and other green features that make these units more economical and green to operate...80% less water and 35% less energy. They utilize water harvesting and maintenance-free landscaping with plants native to the area. The computer room has oversized keys, the exercise room is low-impact and the balcony or patio has a ceiling fan. All great features...but I do question the logic in so many charging stations around the complex for today's usage, in TWO walking trails and in a basketball court which will likely stay filled primarily with teenage grandchildren bored with visiting the grandparents. This complex appears a little over the top in amenities. Still, kudos to the Houston Housing Authority in the LEED certification. Seniors do need the benefits of low VOC paint and the other healthy building practices.

Some units are market prices and some are low-income.

I am wondering whether it would make more sense to cut out a few of the over-the-top amenities to create a very nice complex that would contain a few more low-income housing units for seniors...still LEED, of course.
