i got my license, found a company and have now started my real estate career. i used to sell real estate in london (england) and was extremely successful, but there are a lot of differences in the jobs. for example in england, we didnt really have to hunt for business as it all came to us. so my point is, at the moment i feel like a total noob. put me infront of clients, no problem. i just dont know how to go about finding them. so my actual dilemna is that im concerned i am not working at the right place for me. it seems there isnt actually any formal trainer, and my mentor simply wants to see me for 10 minutes a week to ask me what im doing and tell me what to achieve by next week. thats great, but how do i achieve those goals?! i dont think im going to get any help with this at my current company.
when i was interviewing brokers, i did interview with a KW office, and i cant help wondering if i should have gone with them for their training. is it bad to leave a broker after only a week, and is an office that i have already turned down going to be interested or responsive to me possibly going to work there?
thanks in advance - im feeling pretty stressed and helpless and just want to get my career off to a good start!

Thanks! I have read Gary Kellers Millionaire Real Estate agent and a few others, so I have an incling what to do, just would like some guidance how to execute it. My sphere is fully aware of what im doing and ive been educating them that referrals are what will help me build my business.
In london, all agencies have a strong visual precense and offices are located in prominent locations, so the you have an almost constant stream of foot traffic, as well as a healthy daily stream of internet leads (plus referrals etc). its far more location centric - ie offices focus on one specific region

Start working on an internet presence through blogs, websites and such. In my old office we had several people that came and went quickly. Within a week sometimes. You might talk to your broker about training to market yourself. You also need training on contracts and the way a transaction goes here in Colorado. I'm sure that's different then London also. I think all it costs is to transfer your license to another office. I forget how much that costs now in Colorado. Though I don't know how much Metrolist which I'm sure is the MLS you use charges.

This Google Custom search may do a better job of searching the forums for some keywords than the old forum search does. The results do not include threads from the Asset Managers Forum however. To search that forum you will need to be actually in the Asset Managers Forum and you will need to use the old forum search below.
