I'm pretty sure I passed. I forgot my calculator! They give you scrap paper but you can't use it for the math calculations, lol. Good thing that 3 of the 4 math questions were easy enough for me to do it in my head. I ticked off the questions I wasn't sure about and that leaves me with passing. I was the first one out of the room.

I'm just glad it's over. If I failed, I'll be more relaxed the next time since I'll know what to expect.

In the meantime, I'm going to just learn the business and relax for the rest of today. :silly:

I've never failed an exam in my life . . . . except for one.

It was the Vermont State portion of the SalesPersons Exam. I probably did very well on the National portion; but I don't even remember.

This was over 20 years ago, but it was one of those "life changing moments". I had been cocky going in. I was a different person coming out.

We received immediate test results back then (unlike today!). I received a 69 when a 75 was necessary. I was stunned. Before driving home, I wrote down every one of the 30 or 35 State questions that I could recall. I was able to remember the nature of every single question . . . . I still have those valuable notes today. In retrospect, my memory at the time impresses even me.

I was then able to change my focus and studied EVERYTHING that pertained specifically to "Vermont" . . . . arcane areas of the Law that I did not even know existed. It became obvious why I had been smacked with a failure. Vermont has a few esoteric laws and regulations that always befuddle practicioners from other States. Then, 6 weeks later, which was about the earliest I could re-take that State portion, I came close to 100%.

I'm glad they failed me. I never would have come to know that which I did not know. It protected the General Public from me.

Regardless of the outcome; don't get discouraged. And with the presumption that "Jackie" is a female, always have a calculator in your purse. They are useful to double-check calculations that you've already done in your head.

I never used a calculator on my test. I simply looked at other peoples answers LOL!!!!

I knew going in that math Math was 15% of the test. In theory I could miss all the math and still pass. Logically 2 out of 4 answers could be eliminated giving me a 50/50 chance. When in doubt I choose C. I was in and out in about an hour. I passed with high scores.

Luckily we get our results immediatly upon completion.

This is NY. The state can be so backwards with so many things. At least I can find out online. I only had 4 math questions and 3 were so basic. It took me 25 minutes. 3/4 of the test I breezed right through it. The last 1/4 I had to really read the questions and answers before I answered and had to bring in logic, lol.

Reading the questions is good practice for really reading the contents of a Warranty Deed, a Restrictive Covenant, or the precise wording of a Right-of-Way. Evelyn Woods speed reading doesn't have much applicability in Real Estate.

When "real money" is involved, we have to go plodding along, Word by Word, Phrase by Phrase, Clause by Clause, ever so carefully . . . . just to avoid really screwing things up royally.

Most of the questions I had were short. No paragraphs like I was preparing myself for except for the math questions.

I have been pretty good with Math but I brought my calculator just in case. I didn't use it but I had it.

I got lucky with easy math questions. Still waiting for the results online. NY is so slow! :)

LOL! That answer is much cleaner than what I said to myself. And you have to hand it back in after the test so I left just knowing that is NY State for you. They want you to hand it back in because in the past people have written some questions with the answers and left the site with that info. I do not blame them for that reason.

Origami would be out of the question as well, lol.
