Hello,

I am an Insurance specialist for State Farm Insuarnce. I am creating a network of professionals, and I am looking for 3-5 realtors who share the same values and Entrepreneur philosophy as I do.

This way I can refer my customers and know that they are going to be taken care of. This small network of professionals that I am looking to build will all benefit from each other.

Please let me know if you are interested.

My e-mail is: miguel.delgado.prxq@statefarm.com

Setting up a referral network is a local thing. I don't think you are posting in the right place.

Go to a meeting at your local board of Realtors and put out some flyers and business cards. Offer free insurance reviews and advice to agents and their clients. Then work any contacts and follow up calls you get from agents to see if it leads to some mutual referrals.

You might try one of the many real estate directories that allows you to search by locality and contact them directly.

join activerain.com

if you have your own website, start a blog on it

you could join a local BNI club or start your own, although existing clubs probably already have an insurance agent on their panel and starting your own network club takes a lot of commitment and dedication (bni.com)

drive around to open houses on the weekend, go inside and give the agent on duty a cold bottle of water and a flyer and two or three business cards; ask if they already have a specific agent they refer buyers to when the buyer purchases a home; if no -- then give a short pitch -- if yes -- ask if they will keep you in mind as a backup insurance agent becuse you are super responsive and your insurance rates are great and yadda yadda yadda, then leave and drive to the next open house (make sure you get a business card from every agent you talk with)

I would think you need more than 3-5 agents to refer you business. How often do you have referrals to give away?

I refer business to my personal insurance agent when needed. Sometimes we share mailings (My flyer and her flyer). Another agent I like is verygood with investment properties. He's came to the office before and held a 30 minute seminar on the challenges investors face. It was free, he gave us agents some pretty good insite, and he pitched his products. The next month his partner came in and talked about insurance needs for Independant Contractors.

I like Cavemans idea as well. I would not be offended if you showed up at my open house with a bottle of liquor and a couple shot glasses, or we could just drink staight from the bottle I guess.
