Well this is my second month doing a door to door newsletter. Today some lady calls and starts yelling at me because of it. The newsletter bothered her that much that she had to call and yell at me. I reall dont even think she read it. She said "its about homes or something", or something. Then when I said that I needed her address so she does not get one she says no i dont. Well how am i supposed to make sure you dont get one if i dont know where you are calling from?! Some people. Just a rant.

Travis it is to be expected in anything you do. Negative people see the worst in things. It's not about you it's them just venting.

Move on and keep doing the newletter and expect more of thos calls BUT also expect other calls that lead to business as well.

Oh yea i understand that. What i just cant figure out is why people in general not just real estate always feel they have to get an attitude with everything. Just be civil about things and it will go easier. but i know that I will NEVER figure that out.

Some people are just a**holes about everything and build their entire lives around sucking the joy out of everyone else's life. Just let it pass. She's probably the neighborhood witch that chases away the kids who trick or treat at Halloween.

Travis

Did you ask her who she had her license with? The first time I farmed with a newsletter I got two nasty calls, both from agents that didn't like me in their territory though they didn't say so.

It was probably nothing to do with you. Often times when people are having problems they look for easy targets to take it out on. She is probably a homeowner with severe financial difficulties and doesn't know how to cope.

You're probably right, sometimes you can turn a bad situation into a good one. Go buy her a small plant and knock on her door, hand it to her with a nice apology card with your business card in it. Apologize profusely, she was probably just having a bad day. Guess what, youll gain a new friend/client for life just for going back and listening....

You never really know what people are dealing with. She has probably cooled down by now and feels really bad. Try it and let us know what happens!

Everybody has their own unique personality. That may work for some people. Personally, I think she needs to have that pot plant crammed in her big mouth. Some people are just plain mean, until they meet someone meaner. BigC
