I know it's only July 3 but some offices are taking the day off as July 4th is on Saturday. I did not get any orders yet but the day is still young. Did anyone get any new orders today?

I have a order due July 4th...you think they care if it is a holiday for the U.S. No they do not...This is a global world we live in now...its just another day...You have the option to put your self out of the office or you can choose to keep the red light on...

I think all of my clients are closed tomorrow... or at least that is my impression. A july 3rd asset assignment would be sweet though

I had two due on the 4th........was working on one when I lost my high speed.......changed over to lap top with land line to finish......talk about slow.......took like forever......BB must be working.......less than 2 minutes after I submitted, it cleared QC.........one to go and high speed is back up and running......looks like I have a free weekend......."say what?"........lol.......had one put on hold......Preservation company decided to change locks on one that's listed, still in owners name, and utilities are still active.......It's just a matter of time before these lenders get sued..NOD filed but no trustee sale.

I wouldn't mind if I had a couple of orders over the weekend . . . No big plans here, just little things around the house, so an order wouldn't get in the way . . . and June was a slow month. wink

July 4th is a holiday that occurs on Saturday. That being said, only that day should be observed as a non-buisness day! I get so tired of some people using a one day holiday and streaching it out over more than that period of time.

Look at Christmas. Some streach out that one day for well over a week if not more. Yes, I know people travel to be with their families at that time, I get it. Yet I feel that SOME use any holiday as an excuse not to work, and justify the surrounding days as an excuse to be lazy.

Then some wonder (probably those same people) why countries like Japan, China, India, etc are emerging, and we are falling behind. Rant over. (Sorry I just need to vent - Thanks for putting up with me!)

I agree very much with this rant. I will add to it that it seems whenever I have something important do to either real estate or something else it will need to be down during one of these holidays more times then not.

I always get orders on the 4th. I have a better chance of grabbing an order, they tend to sit unclaimed longer.

When I was in the Corporate world I loked forward to the holidays and the weekends. Now, they are just another day. When I get to stressed and decide I need a Holiday, I will take a day.

Jeez, be grateful you all have a job making decent or better money. The rest of the real world either doesn't have a job, or is working just as hard if not harder for crap money just to survive.

Edit Reason: added the word "Jeez"

Oh, I don't know about that, b29skh . . . There are a lot of good jobs out there and I know a number of people making decent money and getting along just fine. Perspective . . . gotta keep perspective and not get sucked into that old "sky is falling" routine.

If I don't get any orders today, and my partner gets his orders all finished before this evening, then I expect my household will have this kind of a day tomorrow & be glad for it:

I got several requests today so unless they were computer generated, someone besides me is open.
I doubt any tomorrow though.

I haven't interpreted anything here as whining. My interpretation is that people here were hopeful for work today. Some enjoying the fact that others take off and they have an easier time getting the work.

Maybe it's just differences in the way we filter information.

I did get new work today and I'm not whining about it, just to be clear.

I didn't see anything as whining either. Just some commenting on how some people use one holiday as an excuse to take more days off.

Yeh, I wasn't whining - nor accusing anyone else of whining! My view is, I will do all the work someone wants to assign me. Like Dayton & Vermont were noting, "weekends" and "holidays" are pretty much "days" like any other days. I have rental property and those folks taught me a long time ago that "quittin' time" doesn't exist when you work for yourself! LOL And it's all okay, all good.

On the flipside, my point was that if I didn't get assigned any bpos today or over the weekend, it would be okay too.

My parent owned a 24 hour convenience store when I was growing up. People always ask my father why he was always open 24 hours. He always replied "I pay rent 24 hours". I grew up with the idea that you had to work and be grateful because some people are not so lucky. In Korea people suffer very much from hard times. I perceive some people here sometime as complaining that they have no time off or that the money is not so good for some orders. I am sorry if I offend some people maybe I am too rigid. I have been working 7 days a week for years. I take off Sunday morning to go to church and have lunch with my family. I am grateful to God for the work I receive. I feel sad when I see so many people right now in America are suffering and they would give anything to be in our shoes. One day I hope I have more time to enjoy the fruits of my labour and to spend more time with my family. Today I labour. America is the greatest country in the world. I am very blessed to live here.

Everyone lives their lives differently. Whenever I talk to people almost all would (never) say I had the fondest memories of working so much........

It would be about traveling, time with family, life experiences.

I lost my father along with other family members at a young age. What I learned from that is TIME not MONEY is valueable. There are some of the richest (money) people in the world that die everyday and can't BUY more time.

For those who are workaholics and that's their existence that is fine. I have no problem saying I take extended holidays. Heck some of my clients (developers) take a week vacation every 1 to 2 months or longer.

I am taking a 4 day this weekend and I love it. CC sent me 3 bpo requests and I let someone else have them. I only get holidays once a year and then they are gone. I can make money anyday of the week.

This is the attitiude that made this country the greatest place on planet Earth. What a wonderful reminder of what we are preparing to celebrate tomorrow, whether or not you are working or relaxing. Thanks for the reminder B29.

Excellent post...enjoy your time...........but, get ready for a BPO dam burst........I've beem getting that deep down gut feeling, again.......the last time I went through this, within a week I was buried in orders. In the past few weeks, I started seeing a pattern......old companies coming back in the picture, smaller companies increasing their orders, picked up a new major this past week (have tried for months), just lots of positives to focus on.......I think July is going to be a banner month for BPO's.....any release of REO's will happen after August 1st and don't expect a major drop.

When I read this thread, it appears a few of us got some "trickle orders".........some more than others.......Last year, July wasn't a busy month, for me.... I think that is about to change........
