Any advice for me before I jump into the industry?

Do not buy or sign up for any service that promises buyers and sellers to your door.

Last minute? LOL, honey, the fun is just beginning.

Do not rush out to spend money on every "must have" gadget, do-dad, or program out there.

Spend your time now learning the ropes - learn how to use your MLS, learn your market, talk to people. If you don't have appointments, drive around pre-viewing properties and learning your neighborhood. Talk to people. Learn how to build a blog. Get blogging so in a few months you'll start generating your own leads.

Start learning all you can about short sales and REO's.

Congrats. The first thing to do is let everyone know that you are a Realtor and you can help them with any Real Estate needs.

Latch on to someone successful in your area. Avoid like the plaque agents who complain about the market being "dead".
