This may be a dumb question...perhaps I'm having a senior moment.
I was talking to an agent a couple days ago who recently signed on with a new broker. The broker has ordered signs for her...not riders, but signs...which have her phone number, but not the brokerage phone number. I thought all signs had to have the number of the brokerage clearly displayed. I've gone back to the text for my real estate class and I haven't found any clarification of this question. Anyone know? This is in New York, if that makes a difference.
I think it be state specific but if I had to guess it would not require the number of the broker but the name. States usually require the brokerage name to be larger than the agents etc.

Definitely this is a state specific question. In Missouri, the brokerage name and number do have to be on all signage. The theory is that the customer must always have all the info they need to contact the broker, in case they have an issue with the individual agent or cannot get in touch with the agent. It's all about protecting old JQ Public.

I find a lot of brokerages are going with the agent's number on it in order to attract and retain top producers. Top producers don't want other agents getting all the calls on their own listings.

In Louisiana, the Brokers info must be on all advertising as well as signs. I agree with Lizl. We need to keep JQ public informed. Most brokers here welcome their agents to have sign riders on their signs.
