Due to numerous requests, I need to ask if anyone using Tablet PC's in real estate are utilizing the signature capture and submitting signed contracts as regular business in a completely digital format?

The reason for the question is that numerous agents are looking at Tablet PC's but if there is going to be a legal roadblock, why spend more money on the tablet when a regular notebook would be cheaper? So, is anyone having legal reasons for NOT using the tablet PC to sign contracts and other legal documents?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

I use one and love it. I haven't gotten into any legal issues yet from it. It's really no different than the tons of faxing that goes on in my opinion. Although it's not my opinion that's going to bring up the objection.

I integrate that (tablet PC) with internet faxing and never touch a piece of paper with my buyers.

Make sure you get a bigger battery though ... you'll be using your computer a lot!

I am wondering if anyone in Georgia is using a writing tablet to have clients sign contracts? Is this legal? I am trying to set up a mobile office and think that having clients sign the document right on the computer will be much more effective than printing the contract and then faxing it. Any thoughts?

I just posted the below in another thread. But I love efax and would like to go totally digital. In GA, I would of course get clean contracts signed with blue ink prior to the closing to be included with the file but I think that I am going to go the paperless way. I can avoid having to go back to the office and in turn do more deals.

Tablet PC's are growing in use among agents but its still bleeding edge.

Check out www.vreo.com

Their product is legal for use in California.
I can't say for other states.

Another thought is to use PDF Annotator.

My blog in my sig is just about tech

PS - check out packetel.com (competition to efax)
but they don't cover all states yet
