Hi everyone! I just wanted to share this discovery with you all. I have recently signed up for an "efax" account from http://www.MyFax.com It's an absolutely FABULOUS tool for real estate because it allows you to receive faxes right in your email's inbox as a pdf and you then have an electronic copy of all those contracts which you can then email or fax along to the appropriate party. You're given a toll free number (within North America)which is another great feature. The salesman I spoke to said that anyone who calls him and mentions my name (Jaime Lee Mann) will get their first month of service free. His name is Jeff St. Pierre jstpierre@protus.com phone: 888.733.0000 ext.524 Oh, it's only $10 per month for 200 outgoing and 100 incoming pages...or vice versa I don't recall off the top of my head, anyway you can buy another package if you have a higher volume than that-but it's still cheaper than paper and those annoying fax toner cartridges.

i use ringcentral.com which is an excellent very cheap and affordable house listing system. It comes with efax capabilities plus they offer an extra free efax line.
k7.net offers free efax numbers but usually they are not local to a market you use.
companies like myonlyone.com or crtechnowlediesinc.net offer solutions that are a phone number and fax rolled into one.

If you just need to screen out the "junk" faxes, then do what I've been doing for years:
I use my computer AND a fax machine.
My computer is set to answer on the 2nd ring and the fax machine is set to answer on the 4th ring.
If the computer were to screw up, then the regular fax machine would catch the call. In 4+ years, I've never had this happen though.
I use WinFax software on the computer. I NEVER miss a fax and I get to view them before I print.
No wasted paper or toner!

MaxEmail.com offers unlimited incoming faxes and a local number fo $7.95/mo. I believe outgoing faxes are 10cents per page.
Also- you can use the same number as a voice mail box as well.

I use DataOnCall.com and like it. It's only $10/mo and doesn't have that wierd viewer that eFax uses. I'm on a Mac and it works really well on those too.

I use PBNext. It is a whole phone system that does the call capture, 800#, talking properties, faxing etc. They just came out with a new $49/month plan that is unlimited inbound/outbound calling etc.
