I use www.snappermail.com on my treo 600 to get my gmail now. I then use Sprint's SMTP server address to send out emails from my phone!

Not only that but you can use it with your MS OUTLOOK 2003 software.

Also Hotmail is considering or is blocking 3rd party usage of its email service unless you pay the $20 a year sub fee. And also yahoo.com to access pop3 you need the upgraded account..

Has anyone else tried to do this?

Actually, I mainly use my Gmail account for listserve emails from groups I'm on like RealTalk.
It tracks 'conversations' on these types of group emails. In other words, if an email comes through with a particular subject line, successive responses to that email by members of the group are 'nested' so I can easily view all of the responses.

i love my gmail. i may start using that for my work stuff from now on. lol

I like gmail for it's spam filter, which is really really nice. I used to have a email address where I got 200-250 spam messages a day, then like 20 or 30 good ones. I have yet to get one spam message in my inbox at gmail. Really cool

Also, you have 1,000 magabytes to store things, even better!
